Had to get my new MRR wheels rebalanced due to a terrible mechanic I trusted. He put SO MANY weights on there and it was like driving with square wheels. So now, after being rebalanced by a competent mechanic I have beautiful black wheels with a bunch of white adhesive from the old weights. What is the best way to clean this without damaging my black powdercoat?

try some rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad.it cleans up most adhesives.

WD-40 on a rag can also remove some. It shouldn't be harsh enough to ruin the paint.

Thanks guys, gonna try the rubbing alcohol this weekend during its wash. Gonna wipe the wheels down now tho because the handprints on the wheel face from the mechanic are driving my OCD crazy

Kerosene makes a good solvent that won’t harm anything

Ditto on the WD-40, i have used it before just for stick on tape like this...soak it and let it sit for a bit if dont first come off...just dont get on existing weights.

If there's a lot of it, you may not want to hear this but...........have them balanced again.

No no, they HAD a lot of weights. Now they have only 1-3 on each wheel so now theres so much glue left from the OLD weights. You think im gonna need them balanced again from removing the glue? its not a lot, it just doesn't look great.

He was only saying if there was a ton of glue, to get them rebalanced.

If you don't think there's a lot of glue, and the car rides fine after it's all cleaned off, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's amazing when the tires get up to speed, how much rotational force is given from small crap like that.
