SS of course, it comes track-ready -- that is a HUGE benefit to any modifications you might do; no other environment is more taxing on a car than the track...

GM should also offer a track version of the non-V8s!

V8 all the way. Staying up on repairs w/ a twin turbo... no thanks. V8 is factory and won't ruin your warranty while you pay off the car note.
