What Ted said. I have 0* limited all of my cams from the start. Just spec it correctly and the VVT isn't needed.

Also, as Brett has explained to me, if your cam has a lot of built in advance like mine (+8), you might need to go with 4* limiter, and is also another reason I plan to move to one of Brett's cams and use a 0* limiter.

I think on my next large by huge cam I am going bring in an extra +4* advance and run a 4* limiter. If it doesnt work out I can command 4* retard and put it back to normal. There could be some tq down low to be gained on a large cam. But you never know till you test.

No, I wouldn't do that to anyone but myself. I don't use others as test dummies.

I picked the motor up today, have a few things still on order, BMR motor mounts, 160 t stat so hope to start getting it back in the car this weekend and running Wednesday. Might get some passes in the 26th or 27th but if that doesn't happen it may be spring since its gonna get cold before long. I have to leave for SEMA the 28th and won't be back till the Nov. 3. Any time after that I'll have to travel to a warmer climate to run, doubt that will happen. Probably switch to E85 this winter and have it ready to go in the spring. I'll keep you updated.

I did order BMR tubular motor mounts for more room for my long tubes. I guess it would be best to wrap the headers close to the starter as I've heard about starter failures with the heat from the headers.

I recommend Ceramic metallic coating.

My headers are coated, just want a little more heat wrap to make sure I don't have any problems. Thanks Ted.

wrap your header at the location and then wrap the starter too. IMO coating ain't even close to cutting it. You are ejecting close to double the OEM power thru the exhaust and then stuck in staging lines / traffic etc. The starter cooks bone stock.

I picked up the wrap today, good idea on wrapping the starter also. The staging lanes really build some heat, I don't drive it much on the street anymore but if I go to E85 I just might since its a pain to switch back and forth from 93 to race fuel.
