Put more than one person in it and it gets even slower.....
I've been driving one while my Vue is in the shop, my wife, my mother in law and me were going to Kingsport in it, getting up on the interstate with the three of us in it I was doing 45 at the end of the on ramp... WIDE OPEN!!!
In the Vue with the three of us I can be up to 55 before I get halfway to the end of the ramp... Anyway at least I am getting over 30mpg in town..

The EV acceleration is actually very respectable. It's all relative I guess. The cars most of us had when I was a teenager were pretty dang slow. The 0-60 time for an '82 Z28 is 9.7 seconds! The Spark EV would blow its doors off.

I must admit, I've been stupid a time or two on the highway. I am lucky the Camaro gods were with me and I didn't get hurt or hurt anyone else. Reading articles like that really hits home. if nothing else, this article will make me think twice. Thanks for the post.

Just like so many of us that either at once did street race or still do, just cause you haven't been in a crash yet or have not been caught, it is bound to happen. I used to street race and have been caught and a couple of times almost been involved in an accident or two. I really try not to do this anymore but my ego gets the best of me once in a blue moon .

Its not worth it though. If you have a hot car or fast car, you have nothing to prove if you know it. And if they really push the issue, take it to the track where it is controlled.

My friend who would do some work on our 2000 Camaro was killed Paul Walker style circa 2001. He was riding shotgun in a modified 4th gen when the driver decided to show off. The driver lost it and went sideways into a tree. RIP Mark. The driver lived.

Ten California Highway Patrol cars were there (IIRC, his dad was CHP), and at LEAST 100 Fbodies. It was a nice tribute, but I'd still rather have my friend around.

Someone did lose someone, whether or not it was this driver's own doing--it is sad.

Frustrating that he/she went out like this, and the media will distort reality as always and condemn drag racing (not street racing) and Camaro drivers will be considered irresponsible as a group.

The best safety equipment ever is not to run into shit to begin with.

whoa I live in Gilbert and didn't hear any of this. Idiotic people who street race risk so many factors that they ignore - or tend to go "unseen".
