Pretty sure I read that top video was filmed in British Columbia. Huge trees and mountains. In the video you see a truck drive through with a spare tire mounted on the front with a tire cover that says Canada.
Those old street racing videos are cool.

In 1986/ 87 I had an aluminum headed 440 Dodge Charger on a shitton of nitrous that ran in the high 9s. Fast for the day especially for a street driven car. It was back halved. Man I miss that car. Big tire car but man it was fun. What they do today on 8.5 and 10.5 tires was inconceivable back then. But then if you had told me I could buy from a dealer a 650 hp Camaro that idled and actually met emissions standards I would have laughed at you.

BTW, Potter basically melted his engine on the pass with the chute out. But he wasn't going down without a fight. There was nothing left of the engine that was unusable after that pass.
