I added a loop for NHRA's Byron Dragway. 12.99 or faster you need a loop if not stock. I have a Roto-Fab, that means not stock with NHRA. All depends on your track though. Me, I'd rather follow the rules and be safe.

Byron will only enforce the driveshaft loop if you have slicks and tell them you don't have a loop. I had a long conversing tech about my needs being ProCharged. We came to the conclusion I need to buy a jacket. They're not very strict though as I still have yet to buy one.

Haven't had any problems on the west coast tracks - until you drop into the 9s, just need helmet, jacket, and I like having a driveshaft loop... Much more sensible than tracks have been in the past.

I don't get the rub about running the required safety equipment. It protects YOU and the driver int he other lane. It's irresponsible to think otherwise IMO.
To recap the NHRA rule, it only applies to UNMODIFIED from the factory. You stick a different tire/wheel on the car and that goes out the window. |
