2016 RS - humming noise from front end

Hey all. My wife's car (23k miles) has a humming noise coming from the front end. The noise gets louder as speed increases and can start to be heard around 30mph. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the engine or transmission though. The car is shifting fine and if you let off the gas and coast the noise stays the same and will only decrease as speed decreases. The car has new tires, but it was making the noise prior to the tire change. Only thing I can think of is bearings. I don't think its a brake dragging as steering is straight, no pull.

Any ideas before I take it to a shop? Also any shop recomendations in North Fort Worth?

Thanks for any help, happy to answer any questions.

Do quick lane changes to see if the sound gets louder when you are changing lanes to one direction. this puts more weight on the bearings, If it is a wheel bearing it will get louder as you get more weight on them

Ok, I will give that a try. Noise gets loud by 45 so may be hard to tell as its constant noise like really loud road noise from a truck with off road tires on the highway.

Were the old tires wearing normally? That might give you a clue about the source of the noise too.

No the old tires weren't. Taking it in for alignment next week. The old tires were worn from outside Close to bald to inside plenty of tread left.

That seems like it would be the source of the sound.
