Sitting at the dealer - fuming

So I'd normally not take my shit to the dealer but with a free first service, I figured why not...Big ****en mistake.

The porter plugs in a module to read the obd2 and vehicle info, it's a rather large rectangular device and he seemed to have issues plugging it in. I'm standing right there and I hear a snap. He didn't say anything and when he walked about to the office I checked and sure enough snapped my ****en obd2 tabs off the dash. Not fun.

They say they are going to take care of it but I'm not confident if they couldn't even take care plugging into an obd2 port. ****en shit!!!

That's what they call them. Actually it was the service writer, the porter just takes the car to the bay.

George Chevrolet in Bellflower.

Supposedly so they can get all the cars info and no issues with mismatched vins.

So it's being worked out. The part that had appeared give is the aldl or all data link connector, (obd2) but it's not the factor one but the safepoint gps tracker that's pig tailing off the oem one. The manager is thinking the safe point connector is not as robust as the oem one so wants to remove that and check if the oem snaps into place correctly.
I get what he's saying but so I guess we'll see.

That gps tracker hasn't been working 100% anyway so fine with me if they removed it. It would give alerts that the car is moving when it's not and sometimes won't give me departure or arrival alerts. The onstar gives me the same features so meh.

I feel much better now. I was thinking they needed to replace the entire rear dash support

Man, if they screw up the OBD2 connection, you're going to really want to keep an eye on where/how they lift the car up.

The connection was messed up, it appeared to be the dash clips but it might be the safe point connection points. It's seated better now but still want to get it checked out 100%

I took my Z06 in to to Boardwalk Chevrolet for an oil change. I’m walking around looking at the cars they have on the lot while they are working on my car. As I head back to the service area I see that my car has rolled down a hill into a Volkswagen. The car is literally planted into the VW. The guy from service evidently wasn’t aware on how to park a car with a manual transmission.

To add insult to injury, the service manager came out and told me that I couldn’t prove that they did the damage. Seriously, he told me this!

The deal general manager actually was good to me once I got ahold of him, and cut me a check right away, but I am definitely more careful on where I take my car for routine service now!

That's rough!!! I would have lost my shit even more!

Free service was not worth the headache today, I typically avoid the service departments like the plague just for these reasons.

If anyone would be able to post up a clear close up pic of your obd2 port connection area that would be great.
