I'm a Rotofab guy and I've never had big gains on the dyno with the RF but I do think my cars always MPH better because of the RF. Just no restrictions at all. I just don't think you can force enough air in thru the stock box like you can a RF. I wanted on for my C7 but Mike wasn't buildiing them yet but may in the future. Well of course I sold my C7 and he's finally getting one built and will out in the near future. Could be wrong but I don't think so.

I’m pretty sure if I ask him he’ll say get a Rotofab, there are two reasons why I don’t want a a Rotofab. First off being a CA car sucks already got in some trouble over one in past and don’t wanna deal with that bs again.
Second reason is I like the stealthy look. No one suspects a car with the stock air box to be quick.

I did buy a Rotofab a few months ago just for testing purposes. Just put it on the car no tuning the car. I tested roll stuff 40,50,60-100 times were identical to stock air box. Also ran at the track with it, my car went from 98mph to 97mph and the weirdest thing is after slapping the stock air box back on the car stayed at 97mph now. And even after dropping close to 100lbs off the nose of the car it’s still a 97mph car LOL
Maybe a tune update would’ve gotten me a tiny bit more performance but I don’t see the performance gain being worth the money.

i didn't see a gain going from my cut stock air box to a rotofab. i think it's evident now that one can get 95% out of these cars with very little money. the other 5% & 1.5 mph is very expensive and totally not worth it for a bolt on, street car.

Murder 6.2 - I’m guessing you have a Velossa tech ram air or took the shroud off leading to air box?

Are you talking about at the track or on the dyno? I didn't see much either on the dyno but I think the Roto Fab shows up at the track with making more power thru the traps. I ran 120 and 121 with just E85 and Roto Fab with turn. Even with fans blowing into the intake you won't see much power gain in some applications.

i use the timer in hpt to compare pretty much every performance dynamic on my car from 0-150 mph. 40-130, 60-130, 0-110 you name it. i have countless logs with all setups on my car from headers/ported LT1/ethanol to an fbo setup. granted it's a m6 car, im pretty consistent once the launch is taken out of the equation. with that being said, the car has never seen more than 27* timing or .9 lambda. this car does everything and must be safe at all times.

i could easily make a drivers race out of the different bolt on setups ive had on my car. swapping to a 20" wheel setup that's 26 lb lighter (total) didn't even show enough of a gain to confidently confirm. but putting a 26" tire on a 17" rear wheel on my m6 car, albeit only 8 lb lighter per side, showed a notable and repeatable gain in mph and especially et given the drag radial.

it's hard to compare autos to manuals bc the autos are so much faster, consistent and typically lighter, as my car is a 1LE. i bought the slowest na v8 camaro available in 2018, which, ftr, i'm 100% ok with. maybe a m6 vert would be a better comparison with regard to weight and transmission.

I did find a ported Lt2 and installed it last week with that 95mm stock TB I purchased a while back. I hope to get on the dyno this week or next, I did a couple street logs and looks like its running a little rich. Will adjust Maf to pull fuel when I get on the dyno. I had planned on going to the Camaro Fest next month but gonna have to cancel since I'm having a couple health issues. Still planning on the LS Fest in September and I'll have it all dialed in by then. Not sure what other mods I'll add but maybe a couple, I'll figure that out after we have some numbers on the dyno and a little track time.

Decided to hit the track twice a few weeks ago.
I ended up buying different wheels.
This whole time I’ve been rocking a 18X8 Forgestar F14 with a street tire on it.
Weighed about 44-45lbs a side.
I’m now running a 18x5 Weld Belmont with a Hoosier drag front. (32lbs)
Also running Weld Belmonts on the rear with a ET Street R. (51lbs)

First slip was during a Special Sunday event with not so many people.
Weather conditions were a lot worse (90 degrees 3000 DA) than last time out when I ran 7.05s (65 Degrees 600 DA)
Ran 5 or 6 times that day and all were in the 7.1x range.
7.100 was the best I could do that day. The thing that boggles my mind is that run was a hot lap. Manifold temps were in the 140s IATs 135.

2nd slip was the following Thursday local test and tune. Only ran twice first run was a 7.1 again (2900 DA 90 degrees) and second run a 7.08 (2200 DA 80 degrees)

I think it’s safe to say the skinnies did they’re job should definitely be a 6.99 car in the winter.

No UD pulley yet, I’m debating getting it tho.
Figure i do a mod update on here.
Mods are : Velossa tech ram air duct/Green drop in filter/Ported MSD/95tb, CA Cat Deletes, FF sensor, Pray 4EX Stall.
As for weight reduction the car weighs 3480lbs with no driver on 1/8 tank of fuel. (3700lbs with me in it)
Kirkey seat/Aerospace front Brakes/Weld Drag-pack.
Front sway bar/Undercarriage tray/Aux radiators all removed.

I do think this current set up will get that 6.99 in the fall, but I already have some stuff in mind. I bought a Rotofab and Prays bell mouth, will be getting that installed and tuned soon hope to pick up some HP over the stock box.
After that I’m running C85 and a C85 tune. Still debating also doing the UD pulley while I’m adding stuff since everything adds up. On paper all that should be about 20-25whp.
