Where to get new brake pads
Its that time to replace my brake pads, front and back. Was wondering were some of you guys purchase the pads. I saw the dealer charging around 460 while other websites are cheaper. Looking for OEM only.
Any reliable resellers out there with OEM parts that I can save a few bucks on, over the dealership that you trust? Thanks in advance Edit (2019 zl1 m6 coupe) |

I second this. I picked up a set on Rock Auto on sale a while back.

I have set of OE GM pads - New in the box. Between buying the pads and installing them, decided to try out CCM rotors, so pads stayed on the shelf. Sealed box. Part No. ACDelco 171-1192, GM 13399101

Just curious OP, how many miles?
I just hit 24k on my 2018 and the pads look fine. So, I am curious how many miles folks are getting out of the stock pads if you don't track.

Im at 20k. They are still good but one of them is making a very loud screeching sound. Took it to GM and they said its normal, and wont do anything to cover it or replace it. Its pretty ear piercing if you have windows down. So Im just going to change them out. Figured id do all 4.

Dont do gmpartsdirect. I've ordered from them a few times, and got an email about them refunding me for a part a couple months ago....a part I ordered in 2019, nearly 3 years ago! They don't answer the phone or emails (which is REAL bad considering its a freakin chevy dealership!), and whether or not you get your parts is hit or miss, and even when you do get them, its 2-4 weeks typically minimum, and I've had parts I did finally receive from them up to 3-4 MONTHS after ordering. Of all the parts I've ordered, I only ever got half of them, had to cancel the remaining through the paypal preauthorization (super glad I used paypal for it!), except apparently I missed one.
Oh and that refund they said I'd be getting in 5-7 business days, yea, it was never refunded. I can't say it enough; avoid gmpartsdirect like the plague they are.

Mine, and others, squeal from time to time. These are pads meant for hard braking. Just go to a place where you can, safely, do a full on emergency stop from 40 a couple of times. The squealing will go away for a while. |

They even verified fitment for specific parts, which was reassuring, and parts showed up undamaged, well packaged each time. As to why they don't answer the phone, this is a dealership's parts department, not service writers, customer service, sales or finance, so I'm not surprised they are busy and can't handle these in-person contacts. For the massive discount (30-45%) they typically offer, I can easily overlook this.

Shop around on the GM parts sites for best price. Some appear less expensive, but then have higher shipping costs, so it's best to add to cart and go to the checkout page to see the final quote before ordering.
I typically comparison shop the following sites (and I've ordered from each of them at different times based on price): - gmpartsdirect - gmpartsnow - gmpartswarehouse - gmpartsclub - gmpartsgiant And I'll also check amazon & rockauto
