Cell phone holder

Who can recommend a good one? The cup holders are too far back for me personally. Has anyone used one that clips to an HVAC vent?

It is costly, but I think they are worth the price. I have them in all my cars.

It's an expensive piece of plastic, but it's sturdy and one of the only options for the Camaro. There are coupon codes on the web sometimes if you search for them.

I've just decided to do without. The vent attachments essentially disable one of your vents and will make the vent loose after an extended period. The windshield ones were great, but visibility on the Camaro is already lacking, no reason to add more obstruction. The clips above look ok, but I don't like the idea of mounting plastic on plastic. Something tells me that after some time, the plastic underneath is going to look worn. I'm fine with just keeping my phone in one of the door bins and using my wireless Android Auto. The wireless charging base at the end of the armrest is a cruel joke.

ProClip is the way to go. Expensive plastic, sure, but it's a custom fit and the fit is perfect.

I combined a Proclip base that attaches to the console just like in armycop71's picture and then stacked 3 wall-mount Quad-Lock mounts onto it using a properly sized screw and nut. I then use a Quad-lock iPhone case that locks into the mount. Only solution that I could find that didn't feel like cheap plastic trash.

I'll post a few pictures shortly.

Thanks guys. This is one of my few bitches about my Camaro. GM should have engineered something better. My other main complaint is that there is no console cubby. I guess I’m spoiled by my Cadillac and my Colorado both with a cubby in the console under the screen. I’m used to putting the fob there but with the Camaro I put it in the rear cup holder.

Agreed 100%. I just have to get that wireless android auto. Im good with Bluetooth 95% of the time anyway. Only use android auto when I use Maps and that just is not very often. Normally my phone just stays in my front pocket.

With people doing the 3d printing I’m hoping someone makes a mount that we can use the electronics underneath the current wireless joke so we can place a modern phone there. It’s not like the backseat ever gets that busy.
I would happily purchase an adapter mount if someone makes one.

Yeah that wireless charging plate isn't even big enough to hold a modern phone. Useless. It stays in pocket and uses AA wirelessly.
