I don't have a road trip planned until June (900 mile marathon grind) but I'm curious how she'll do. The SS would hover in the 27-31 range with a 70 average. Start with a full tank, 2 fuel stops. I'm actually very curious how the Recaros will feel on that ride.

for 4000lb 650hp, pushing around 305mm wide tires on all 4 corners, 20MPG is really unbelievable. Will go 20-24 on highway if you keep speed down (65-70) and this is a 1LE w retarded 6th gear ratio.

I can consistently get 25ish whenever I want, best is 31 mpg over 25 miles (this was in colorado prob on a huge decline though lol)
25 is not hard to achieve on highway at all. for basically stock anyway... |

After about 600 miles, I've been seeing about 16.7 per the DIC. I figure it's not too bad a number given that the engine is really green. I figure it'll loosen up if I can get at least 10K miles on it. Something tells me that might not happen for at least another 2 years though.

A hair over 2600 miles on my ZL1 1LE, and so far I average 15.4mpg on the DIC, including the 1800-mile drive back home, which was mostly highway!
I almost feel bad for not caring about the gas consumption... Smiles per miles indeed! Geoff |

Sounds about right tbh.
My SS A8 averaged 19-20 on 93. On E it averaged 17. Now with a Whipple it Averages 14mpg. Cruising down the Hwy it use to get 27-28 on 93, 25-26 on E, and now about 22-23. So it lost about the 5mpg adding E and Supercharger but the Smiles per gallon went way up...At least 10!!

Im really confused why the ZL1 is getting this poor mileage.
I had a 16 2SS with a Maggie and 305s, making 620-650RWHP and I still NEVER saw below 22mpg, average. Granted, I am in a more rural area, am on the highway a lot, and I am an avid cruise control user(even if at 90mph). Im really thinking the largest portion of this is attributed to the driver, less the car.

I get 21-22 mpg with my 2018, stock ZL1 with the A10 and nearing 29k miles.
I just looked at the trip computer. 229.3 miles and 21 mpg. If I fill up today, I'll manually compute the numbers and see how off it is. But I'm just over 1/4 of a tank, so I might wait until tomorrow. You fella's just need to learn to not race everyone..... |
