I second this - I very nearly jumped on an auto that otherwise matched what I ordered w/ a 6M. My wait didn't end up being as long as the pipeline appears to be now, but there's a great deal of satisfaction in getting EXACTLY the car you want. And the 6M is VERY nice to drive.

I was getting antsy after my order, and was hunting down comparable vehicles across the whole country. I was about ready to cave, somehow convincing myself "Man, maybe I'd be ok with a *insert any color other than Vivid Orange* car..."

The truth is, I've been dying to have a burnt orange Camaro since I got my first one back in the early 2000s, and I am glad I stayed firm in my decision.

Oddly enough one of the cars besides the auto’s is a vivid orange 6m ZL1 1LE

I like the color , actually had an 09’ ram sport in sunburst orange. Very very similar. They only made it for 09’ I believe. All the other ones I saw were more copper looking. Never saw another truck like it.

Im gunning for a shadow grey. That’s what I ordered.

It's often that simple indeed, but not always...I ruminated over this auto vs manual question, too, and decided to take the auto in the end, even though I knew there would be some occasions I'd miss the stick.

Now I love the A8 about 80% of the time and miss the M6 20% of the time, which is a good deal overall; if I had the M6, I'd want the auto in many situations. The latest flush and having the trans tuned solves all real issues, while performance shift mode and those brutal, swift WOT shifts on the auto are redemptive. The A10 with its faster paddle response would be slightly even better.

....aaanyway, what I wanted to say with all this is that everything's a tradeoff, one way or another

Yeah tell me about it. I’m not totally against an auto. More like I’m trying to grab something from a soon to be bye gone era. It’s 100% toy for me. Due to the nature of my work I can never drive it to work. So that takes out a lot of the “stuck in traffic sucks” in a manual talk. (I did drive a manual for 13yrs straight until about 7yrs ago. No I won’t go back to that again lol.

Unless you call the dealer they might be sold/ordered units. I saw min on the site "in transit" even though it was mine. And most buy autos so that makes sense..

Sounds like you’d be best off holding out for a 6 spd or ordering one. Waiting on a 6 spd, may be well worth the wait for you.

Seems like M6 orders have been getting picked up more quickly lately, but maybe it's just me.

That’s how I lucked up and got mines. I seen one in transit and just so happened the one I looked at had everything I wanted and it hasn’t been accounted for. The dealer just built it to spec as what I was getting. Someone in their inventory department know how to build cars lol. I had an A8 but it blew on the road course so I’m going to try the manual out.

Good morning Dylan,
Can you please check on availability on the PDR option for a 2SS? I've been waiting somewhat patiently for an allocation since August. lol.
Thank you!
Mike

Alas, it's in his screenshot, UQT performance data and video recorder with a quantity of 0 :(

Just a thought, but you might be better off changing the order and opting for an aftermarket PDR solution instead.

I think what he's getting at is that post was made 3 weeks ago.

I'm sort of interested as well because I also have a PDR car in limbo. Pretty sure it's still on constraint though. It was when I spoke to my dealer last week.

Maybe consider a good GoPro or two.
