Katech Stage 2 LT1, 528whp NA on 93

One of our recent Gen6 Camaro customers came in for a Stage 2 head/cam/intake package. In addition to this package, we equipped the vehicle with our ported LT5 throttlebody and an ATI damper.

Note that this power was made on STOCK compression on SAE correction factors. There is a bit more power left in this mild cam build if we were to bump the compression up. Additional gains might be possible with the addition of a ported intake and 103mm throttlebody.

The car picked up nearly 120whp/45trq to the tires on 93. When we switched to E85, the car improved that gain to an impressive additional 150whp/70trq. The numbers would read roughly 4% higher on STP correction factors if you are going for sheet numbers.

The Katech Torquer LT1 camshaft used is extremely driveable, you will get no surging at the lower RPM levels when calibrated properly. The camshaft maintains a majority of the VVT, resulting in no low-end torque loss.

This package would be ideal for any street car that wants to see the road course. The cost of this package starts at $11,200.68.

Wow! I just figured out what I'll be saving for. I have a couple questions.

Did this have stock manifolds or headers??

As far as raising compression, would you just mill the heads? How high would you go if someone ran E85 only?

Would the stock intake covers work on the MSD intake?
Thanks!

This car was equipped with 1-7/8 Kooks headers. Compression would be gained by milling the heads, a dedicated E85 car could be ran on 14:1 but you would not be able to get there with decking the heads. Depending on what the heads CC at and how much in the hole the pistons are, you could comfortably achieve around 12:1 compression from decking the heads alone.

The stock intake covers do not fit on the MSD.
