Check the link. Ford is using the Mustang name for an electric SUV.

Apparently the original Ford name for this SUV was simply Mach 1 and everyone went ape poop. So my question is simply what would you think of GM using thecCamaro name in a similar manner.

Well now you Mustang fans will know what it's like to have a bastard step child like we have in the new Blazer. GM is not done sticking Camaro owners in the eyes with a stick, just wait.

I was fine with them using Mustang styling, I was fine with Mach-E. Calling Mustang Mach-E to me is a mistake.
Porsche - suvs and 4 doors are 911 styled but not called 911. Blazer has Camaro-esque styling cues but not called a Camaro The vehicle itself I think is fine but I think ford swung and missed on the name and strategy |

It is strange. They should have made it closer the the Mustang coupe dimensions (in which I would have been more interested) or not included the Mustang in the name.

Mid 5 second 0-60 for the base model Mach E is pretty good for an SUV. I do wish they had called it only the Mach E. It is not a Mustang.
I like the Blazer. My only problem with it is the weak V6 Chevrolet used. It needs a TT V6 making around 350hp/350tq. That would be a good power level for it. |

it is certainly not a mustang.if they want to make an option for electric in a mustang body and call it mach e or whatever thats fine, but that thing is no mustang.probably cant even lose control and wipe out pedestrians at cars and coffee.
