Looking back at texts from my sales guy, mine started building on 4/3/17

Anyone with car built after 4/1 with a silver start button? If so then we black buttons may have just been SOL, if not maybe they switched across the board to black from silver?

So, there's 5 of us now? Wonder if this will continue through 2018.

If it doesn't then we have a 'special' car that will be rare in the future lol

One fine day with a woof and a purr
Some cars were made and it caused a little stir
no silver in stock
So they tossed in the dark
just a batch of zl1s with a little black start.

Alone in the world with a little black start

Chevrolet Customer Assistance insists that the black button is related to trim level:

///////////////
Greetings from the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center! This email is regarding your inquiry on the start button on your 2017 Chevrolet Camaro.

Upon doing a research, we found that the type of start button that comes with the vehicle depends on the trim level of the vehicle. As what we have previously communicated with you, the reason why your vehicle has the black start button is because your vehicle has the Jet Black Carbon trim.

Once again, the Service Request number assigned to your inquiry is [removed]. Please refer to this number on any future correspondence about your case.

If you should need to contact us in the future, you may call our Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-222-1020. Customer Relationship Specialists are available Mondays through Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact Chevrolet.
//////////////////////

If any of you care to, please contact them at cac@chevrolet.com and see if you get the same type of reply.

They're insistent upon the 3DL option being the culprit... /sigh

Yeah, I've sent the email back to them, now noting that 5 of us have this issue and have repeated the point about RPO 3DL not being an option for 2017 after all.

Also that Jet Black is the only interior trim a ZL1 gets for 2017.....
