This pic at the lake, we were poking around 30-50mph, and it got an astounding 37+MPG. 27-30 @ 75mph (+ at times!)
I kid you not, I checked it. All in a fun-to-drive car. 8L45 tranny, superb for an auto, IMO. First one I ever owned, so don't be too hard on me!
Such a great color for the RS, IMO.

It sounds lame, given that the Camaro is a performance car, but the thing I have been most pleasantly surprised about is its outstanding gas mileage. In all honestly, it's only about 2 mpg worse on the highway than my previous car (2016 chevy sonic 1.4t) while being exponentially quicker/more fun to drive.

Last week, I got over 30 mpg driving back from Scottsdale, and that's with 80% of the trip being driven on I-10 & I-5 going 80 mph+. Personal best 50 miles is 37.4 mpg; crazy!

Hey mdhopt36, about your sig, the model code depends on whether you have a 1LS/1LT or 2LT:

1LT. (did I mention it's my first one? I will definitely be a bit ignorant from time to time!)

If I ever win lottery, or inherit a pile, would like it to be a 1aj37??? (1SS)

Am I the only one that kept all of my cool cars?

1968 Chevelle SS 396
1983 Camaro Z28 cross-fire w/t-tops (Entire drive train swapped now)
2002 Trans Am WS6 Ram Air convertible (1 of 46 with Wht, tan top, trac ctrl, speedline wheels)
2017 Camaro SS 1LE

Wouldn't trade or sell any of them. Well except my 2012 2SS auto car for my 1LE haha! Considering the WS6 is a convertible auto (3.23), it is pretty quick. Not as fast as my 2017 or my 1983, but faster than my Chevelle...for now.

So........... this thread started almost ~3 years ago ........ where are the real world #'s from the new V6's to support the argument???

I loved my first LS1 car ('02 Z28). It started life with the A4 / 2.73 gears. Then I f'd with it constantly ... had 3.73's, 4.10's (yes, with the A4!) then blew the transmission, converted to T56, blew the 4.10's, eventually ran factory 3.42's!! (......hence, SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE M6 IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!).

FWIW, here are some of my best times over the years:

13.4 @ 106 w/A4 + 2.73's
13.02 @ 107 w/A4 + 4.10's
12.87 @ 110 w/M6 + 4.10's (...and long-tube headers that year ... so the MPH is higher)

I never touched the motor, other than headers. Car had over 90k miles when I was done with it, and I beat the living F*** out of it the entire time ..... drag raced, road raced (on the track!) ..... over-revved, missed shifts, you name it. Blew MULTIPLE gear sets, but the LS1 never skipped a beat.

Also, weighed in at 3475lbs (~1/2 tank of fuel?) as a T-top car w/pretty much all power options (windows, seats, etc., + factory ground-effects option) ..... after the T56 conversion.

All that being said?? Car RODE like a piece of sh!t, and the RIDE of the new Camaros is fantastic, in comparison. Fit & finish has improved tremendously. So it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Would it bring this thread back to life if I mention the 2019 3LT w/355 HP?
