does anyone know if the Aeroforce interceptor mounts in the air vent like the p3 or if it can only mount in defrost vent. I can't tell from the website

Oh right, it replaces the defrost vent on the left side of gauge cluster...

It's a standard 2 1/16" / 52mm gauge so it can mount in any standard pod of that size. I don't know if there are any air vent pods for these cars, but if so it could mount there, as well as the defrost pod or a-pillar etc.

Would not recommend mounting an Aeroforce gauge in any vent that can carry heated air. The display can dim, or basically go completely dark until the thing has cooled down enough. Aeroforce maybe even mentions this, don't remember.

The one I keep hooked up all the time went in a separate A-pillar pod (and is how I know they don't like heat - think summertime heat from the sun). The one I add for track days gets a top-of-dash Velcro mounting but doesn't live there full-time and I do keep the windows open in paddock.

Just losing some HVAC functionality wouldn't be the best thing to do.

You lose no HVAC functionality with the install of the aeroforce pod in the defrost vent nor does the warm air impact the gauge if installed properly. I have them and the gauges and the defroster work fine.

Maybe not windshield defrost capability, but airflow to the side window will be affected.

Installed in an "air vent" as OP was questioning will block airflow out of that vent. Obviously, this would affect the driver the most . . .

the pod doesnt block the flow, well not all of it, the design replaces the vent insert and pod sits out to the top right side, airflow still flows left to the drivers side window.

Not enough to make a difference at best. More importantly, the gauges work fine installed in the vent. No reason not to get them if a person is otherwise inclined. They look great and measure a very wide array of engine functions.

That part is all the reason anybody needs to get them.

I should get one for the Subaru, if only for coolant temperature and boost.

On these vent gauge pods, where does the wire route to the OBDII?

Anyone have photos?

TIA
