Dead Pedal Removal

I've seen videos of people who replaced their accelerator, brake and clutch pedals with upgraded units (or just due to wear), but they don't seem to include the dead pedal. I get the idea that people just do a glued-in inlay if they want to upgrade the dead pedal. I've poked around under the dash enough to discover there's a big styrofoam block behind the carpet under the dead pedal. Is the pedal itself easily removable/replaceable?

Check out SRPRACING.com. Have used them on my Trailblazer and Sierra. They are top notch.

The dead pedal is just a studded plastic cover connected to that styrofoam block you mentioned through the carpet with round speed nuts. You need to lift the carpet to remove the dead pedal, otherwise if you just pull it up, the speed nuts drop into the abyss.

I ended up doing the inlay, because it was way simpler and cheaper than trying to adapt something from a Cadillac or a truck.
