Car wanders all over the road...?

Anyone else have this issue? I certainly don’t remember experiencing this early on with the car. I have about 10k miles now.

Over almost every road service it feels like car is wandering or wiggling over every darn bump, manhole cover, crack, or rut in the road.

Tire pressure is checked and at 32psi cold, tires have decent tread left (not at wear bars), tread seems to be wearing evenly...what else could be causing this?

Alignment maybe? Car seems to track and brake in a straight line on smooth roads.

I actually had the end links replaced about 11 months ago. Had the horrible clunking sound constantly coming from the front end. The fix resolved that mostly... I still have a minor clunk at very low speeds over speedbumps (or if I’d give it a fair amount of gas from a stop I can hear a clunk from front end).

I had the dealer look at the front end last oil change a few months ago and of course they said everything was tight. But they put cars on a 4 point lift so all 4 wheels are hanging...the clunk happens when the suspension compresses it seems. So I’m thinking it’s time I go to an independent shop to have them look.

I guess I could try dealer again...oil change due shortly. Maybe they would do alignment for free?

Personally, I think it sounds like performance tires nearing the end of their life. From my experience, it’s pretty common. Couldn’t hurt to have the alignment checked, but I’m thinking it’s tires.

If its wanting to follow a crack in the road its called tramlining I think, happens when tires are low on tread, and just grab and follow lines/cracks uneven road surface.

Was in the tire business ten years and very possibly the tires and alignment. The front tires on the zl1's are suspect because of the width and especially close to the wear bars. The tow could be off also.

Thanks all! I’m going to order some PS4S tires soon...I’ll get alignment at that time too. Hopefully that will do the trick!!

Negative camber can cause tramlining as well. Some tires are more prone than others.

I had the issue on my zl1 did an alignment and swaybar end links but, what helped most of all was a recalibration of ride height with the mag ride.

Same issue on the SS we own as well turned out to axle bolts on drivers side..

The good thing is if you complain about these symptoms they are all covered they may even replace tires if they've worn from the issue.

There should be enough ideas here to start with..

I would look at the Nitto 555g2, really stellar performance tires. I love mine.

Seems this type occurrence just keeps coming up.

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500793

This may not be exactly the same as mine is described but too many of these threads have popped up.

I'm going to add this one to the list as well
