Speculation, but at least they're considering a more off-road capable version of some type.

Had my eye on a Colorado but needed something bigger. Ended up with this. I love it. It will make selling my 1LE a little more bearable.

Nope 5.3 with the 8 speed transmission. Apparently they're only putting the 8 speed in the LTZ crew cabs or the High Country few cabs. With all the 8speed improved fuel economy talk I expected it to be a little better than the 6 speed. It's rated at 15 city/21 highway, 1 mile worse than if it had the 6 speed. Getting 16-17 combined and babying it most of the time.
