I almost never buy new cars. I let the original owners take the loss. I would have no hesitation buying a 2017 ZL1 but would definitely ask to see all the maintenance performed by the dealer and of course a carfax. They can give you a detailed list of everything done while under warranty.

Putting one on yours Fran won’t be a problem. Shouldn’t be anyway since you aren’t messing with the stock tuning. The supercharger will have more sound and it will have more throttle response. It’s a good mod in my opinion.

From the Roto Fab web site, and I did , sounds awesome.

OP , good advice above, Is it at a Chevrolet or GM Dealership ,if so you should be able to get a GMPP Warranty. Or if you're planning on Mods , Cam , dod , headers , and more , just Check it out good , go for a long drive. And if you decide to purchase the car. Go have fun and enjoy

That "let the original owner take a loss" makes whole lot of sense for regular commuters, as those lose value quicker than I fart. But for high performance cars it seems like it is not as clear case...
I was thinking about C6 Z06 before I "settled" on new ZL1 because of the prices. Probably bad timing as well but paying almost new Camaro SS price for 15 year old car just don't make sense in my head.
Plus we are still in this abnormal times where used car could be still more expensive than new.

If the car was well kept I’d go for it no problem

As long as the Carfax is clean and there is some semblance of routine maintenance, I’d have no issues buying it. The LT4 is a stout engine and it would take really hardcore abuse to shorten its life in only 29k miles. The first 3 owners probably paid in the 60’s for that car and it would be rare that it did not receive regular oil changes, which is all a car under 30k miles would need.

A LOT of performance vehicles are bought and sold. Barrett Jackson and other high end auction houses do this monthly. I say pay and play.

K&N CAI doesn't require a tune either. Love mine! (SORRY for the sideways pic!)

I would buy used, really depends on the car. To me, the mileage on the ZL1 shows the pump to be good. I would have to look at the car myself, even asking to view it on a lift. 3 owners is a slight concern but not major. In this case I would probably opt for a reasonably priced aftermarket warranty to cover first year. Gotta see and drive the car to really make the decision on purchase. Good luck!!

I have a 2017 M6 ZL1 off the very first production run back in October of 2016. My car has 15K miles and is stock other than a Green drop-in filter and removal of the rain/snow blocker from behind the upper, front grill on the driver’s side. The only issue in the six-plus years of ownership is a bad supercharger idler pulley that was replaced under warranty.

The oil pump failures seem like a huge issue here because those that have it happen tend to post it on the forum so it appears to be a higher percentage of cars than it really is. If the pump hasn’t failed after 29K miles chances are rather slim it is going to fail anytime soon. Stick to a 0W 40-weight oil even though the owner's manual says 5W 30 and you’ll be fine.

Bought my '17 used with 14k on it a little over a year ago. Had the pump replaced with a Katech for around $2500. Ready to rock & roll.

I bought my 17 used as well, but I was immediately getting heads, cam etc.... so didnt have to worry about the oil pump.
