So I cut the ends off and crimped the male spades on that will attach to my footwell lighting under my dash.

So I removed the black connectors that came with the footwell lighting kit and installed the new white connectors that will plug right into the radio light bar without any modifications. Pay attention to which way the wires go so it will power up and run the new LED board correctly. Purple in number 1, Black in number 2, Red in number 3 of the white connectors.

So had a little time today and look what I got done. Ran the new wires with the right white connectors up behind the radio. Plugged them into the bottom LED bar plugged the other OEM wires into the top LED bar for the white side lights behind the radio and the other set that used to be plugged into where the new wires are I left in the back of the radio unplugged. I tapped into the footwell lighting on the passenger side under the dash with the other end. Everything works like it should. I want to once again thank Ofer at Gen5diy for the help and hook up on the OEM factory connectors I needed. They got here super fast. Still waiting on the 6 sets I ordered. Thank you for helping me get this project done sooner!!!

Works with drive modes and the touchscreen color selector.

Very nice work Hyper! I will be following your steps when my car arrives. Have you by chance looked into options for the cup holder lighting that we don't get with the 1SS trim?

I'm new to this forum stuff, but i found a way to change the background LED color on the radio the one that shines to the dashboard. It's cheap but it wont allow you to change the colors. I used a piece of red 3m tail light repair kit and cut it out to fit in between the LED that shines through the fiber string.(cost $3.99) I did the same to the fiber string that goes over the top of the radio. I have pictures but i don't know how to post them so i added the link, I hope this works? My camaro is red so i don't mind it only being red but I'm sure you can find other color plastic that will fit in there to match your liking. Probably going to do the same to a few of the other lights on the inside.

Hello. Thank you! Yes I have and you can buy that piece and swap it out with the silver piece from the 1SS and tie it into the spectrum lighting wiring like I did the radio.

Just out of curiosity, did you buy the door panels from the dealer? If so how much were they?

Looking to do this to mine but I wanted to know how much the overall cost was doing it yourself versus having the dealer do it.

Hello. No those are my 1SS door panels. I bought the upgraded dark night spectrum Interior lighting which can with the lighting for the doors in a carbon fiber look and the footwell lighting.

I finally found a vandalized 2ss radio for cheap cheap so I'm going through this process now and just swapped the LED boards, waiting for the connectors to arrive which are available on eBay finally.

Question, do you know the part number for the light fixture that would replace the chrome piece in the cup holder? I've exhausted myself of hours and hours of googling and still haven't found anything other than the entire console. Just in case you happen to know, don't spend any time on account of me. Thanks!

No but you will have to tap the radio into a door lighting wire to get them to change with the rest of the system.
