TCU and Transmission Failure at 705 miles *UPDATE*
I just received my 2020 1LE A10 back from the Dealership.
While driving at 60mph, with no input change to the throttle, the car began shifting up and down for no apparent reason. With a severe jolt the car shifted into 2nd gear immediately slowing the car to 35mph, jarring the driveline and chirping the tires. The car entered limp mode. Upon diagnostic it was found that my Transmission Control Unit had Failed which caused repeated shifting until my valve body failed in the transmission. GM Warranty provided me with a Yucon Denali to drive while my car was in Service. The Service Department at Titus Will Chevrolet kept me informed of the progress and they had the car back to me within a week. GM replaced the TCU and the Valve body. They informed me they had performed an inspection of the driveline, u-joints, ring and pinion, as well as all other driveline parts which all were still in new condition. Overall, while having a failure at 700 miles on a brand new car is upsetting, the treatment I received was good. I'm hoping others don't have this issue and I'm hoping to not have another failure. ***UPDATE*** Following the TCU Failure and subsequent valve body replacement the car has never shifted properly in manual mode. I have made 2 additional trips to the service department where they tried reprogramming the transmission to no avail. On the 3rd visit I relayed to them they need to solve the issue in the 4-5 shift and that it now was hesitating in all gears when in normal auto mode. Also to note the 4-5 shift has 2 second delay then violent engagement to the point there are noises coming from the rear gear. GM decided to put a new transmission in the car and I still do not have it in my possession. We are now approaching 30 days out of service for a car that I have paid one payment and just got the license plates for.. with a total of 1500 miles on it. Unfortunately, shite happens. Glad to hear that GM took care of you and the problem quickly.
FWIW, we had an oil pump completely crap the bed with less than 3K miles on a Tahoe. Another dealership (not where we bought it) fixed everything and we haven't had an issue with anything else and it currently has 98K miles on it. Even good parts break from time to time. |

Interesting first post. How many days did the dealer have the car for the repairs?
Or did you join the forum as a April fools prank?

The Dealer had it less then a week... I wish it were some sort of Joke but its not. I actually work within the GM system and have relationships with many Dealers here in the Pacific Northwest. I have not driven the car much since the repair but I am confident it was fixed right. And like kwav8r said... stuff happens.

OP, I'm not sure why exactly you posted this. From another post of yours:
No surprise your issue got fixed promptly and in a professional manner... or did you just want to let people know that this issue existed and to look out for it? You only had 700 miles on the car, as far as I know, most failures due to factory errors or defective parts will occur during the first 2-3k miles. It's okay either way, I just don't see the point to be honest.

I posted it in case someone else ran into the same issue... they may have some understanding on what is going on with their car. |

All good, it's just that I personally wouldn't create a whole new thread for this already resolved issue, maybe if someone puts up a poll on A10 failures or something similar, then I'd post. We aren't all alike, I guess

Sorry you experienced that, and its unfortunate on a brand new ride worth as much as it is - whether you’re climbing the GM ladder or not. Not poking at a scab, but that would eat at me too. Good luck and happy (as well as fast) trails.

Issue Not Resolved A10 Transmission
As it turns out I am now going to have the car in the shop for the 4th time for yet another transmission failure. This time a new transmission is authorized; however there are other electrical issues popping up so I am now starting the process to demand a replacement vehicle.
