full exhaust + tune = fuel mileage?
I am looking to upgrade the full exhaust (headers, high-flow cats, & catback) along with a CAI intake and a dynotune. Any thoughts with how I should expect to see my fuel mileage change?
I would assume it would go up due to a more efficient system, but I'm not so sure with the tune. |

In theory, you are correct. In reality, you will like hearing the new sound and feeling the extra power and probably be in the throttle more than you were previously. I would not expect to see any significant change.

The right foot mod does more for mileage than any other mod.

I know we don't buy these cars for their phenomenal fuel economy, but I still do use it for my daily driver so I was hoping I wouldn't end up with a significant drop... |

like Chase stated above.
IF you can keep your foot out of it, and drive it like a Honda, it will actually get better mileage than stock. . . I got Teds, JRE tune, put on a 3" cat back, deleted the resonator, w/magnaflows. vmax TB, and K&N CIA. it can drive better on freeway than stock for sure. 70 to 75 I can get close to 30 mpg. at 65, I can get 33-34. in town, its horrible, its just a heavy car. BUT - I cant drive this car that normal. . . or in town. I love the sound and acceration way to much, also by turning off the stabil a track, and traction control, it unleashes a totally different car. I can an chirp 1st and 2nd gear easily. But gas mileage suffers. But who cares. I did not buy this car for mpg. I wanted something as, or more potent, than my 1990 Camaro z-28. I found it! |

I have a full exhaust (long tubes, no cats, and a Corsa) with a tune and AFM turned off and noticed no significant gain or loss in MPG. on my drive from Cali to NY I averaged 25 MPG.

With headers you'll actually end up losing some torque down below 2000 RPMs, so you may actually see a loss.
That being said, with my 2" long-tubes, no cats, CAI, and tune, I'm getting the same mileage that I was getting before. |
