I quickly got used to pulling one of the "shift" levers to turn it on every time I drive the car. The gear indicator on the HUD turns from white to orange when rev matching is on so it is easy to tell at a glance. It might be more annoying without the HUD. It seems like they could/should offer an option to remember the previous rev matching state from the infotainment screen menus.
