Low PSI message

So I just went to take my SS for a spin and got a low PSI message. Rear driver is at 3 PSI.I know tires are covered under GM warranty. Does that include road hazard? I'm taking it in tomorrow, just want to get my ducks in a row.

No it won't include road hazards. The road hazard wheel/tire warranty is the best thing I've ever purchased in finance. It always pays off.

No, doubt they'll cover it.

It is a flat. Good luck with the warranty.

Oh, and this is right up there with the Bimbo and the hair tie.

Tires aren't covered by GM, they are covered by the manufacturer and NO tires is covered for road hazard without buying an insurance policy. The dealer policies bought from the finance guy are rarely the best deal. The best program out there is Discount Tire. Most stores will sell a road hazard warranty called a certificate for about $50 / tire for the SS tires.

Road hazard, never lease/purchase without it in my opinion.

At 3 psi you cannot drive too far on a run-flat without losing sidewall strength. The range is dependent on speed (driving on the flat) and will be further limited if the tire went flat due to a sidewall tear or puncture. If the tire is repairable, it will have reduced range if it goes flat again.
Make sure your service tech is well-informed on these limitations.
The maximum range to drive on a run-flat is often quoted as 50 miles.

Hey guys thanks for the help.
Dealer found a nail in the tire and was confident patching instead of replacing.
I only drive about a mile on flat before I added air to drive another 5 miles to the dealership. Hopefully it works out....

Does uneven wear due to misaligned rear come under warranty?

Probably note. Generally the alignment is not warrantied.

Actually, the dealer will check and correct the alignment in the first few thousand miles under warranty once. Some dealers want more than 1000 miles on the car so it's settled, others don't care.

Hopefully it is a nail or something that can be patched. Let us know the outcome.
