Nice man, welcome! I traded in my F80 for my ZL1 as well.

Any regrets? I'm in an M4 currently and curious how these compare.

I had a 2012 M3 and loved it. It is a special car. But the ZL1 is the best handling car I have owned. No regrets. The pull off the line is incredible. It doesn't hit 8k redline in 2 seconds like the M3 and not as smooth (rough idle but smoothing out), but loving every shift. Every time I start it and the exhaust talks to my eardrums, I smile..

A lot of F80 M3/F82 M4 converts here.
I also gave up my F80 M3 for the ZL1 (no 1LE, as it's probably a bit harsher than I'd care to DD). I miss the interior, for the most part, but other than that, the ZL1 is amazing. |

Lots of people switching over from M3/M4 to ZL1. Pretty much the same income/age market. BMW HAS to up the power big time and lower the price. Chevy looks to have targeted the M3/M4 with the interior and driver experience.
That's my view.

There are a couple threads with BMW converts here, so without going into detail, no, absolutely no regrets. I love the ZL1, where I just liked the M3.

Well I am another one going to ZL1 1LE from driving BMW M cars for the last 10 years.I had 2 E92 M3's which I really enjoyed and then my 15 M4 which is a great useable everyday driver but I have not really fallen in love with even though it is extremely comfortable, great on fuel and quite quick. These cars lost a lot in my opinion when they went to the TT 6 cylinder from the 8300rpm screamer V8!
As I track a lot the decision to get the 1LE was pretty simple but it does mean there will be a lot of compromises with the need for a winter/tow vehicle and a daily wheel & tire setup.I am quite looking forward to this car! Video of my E92 M3 from Watkins Glen https://youtu.be/mH4nCC9YD5c |

Piling on and my first post. I am going Porsche 991 to a 1LE. TPW is 7/31, August delivery. A bit a trepidation on the quality front and hoping this is a good move... It appears to be a great car for a competitive price.

Performance-wise, it's a bargain. If you can get past the interior (which isn't bad, but isn't Porsche), the weight (it hides it OK, but you know it's there over a 911), and have no nagging issues, I think you'll be very pleased. |
