it could be holding it together... you saw the crash video right?

LOL just kidding I don't really know but to be honest, where it is located there isn't much to hide because its just a bunch of holes... Now if it was applied more tactfully probably another story but it seriously just looks like it is thrown on.

It looks like they might be trying to force more air to the outboard coolers, since the cannards block off some of the opening that was on the ZL1.

Not trying to throw this way off topic... but the license plate.

Do you guys think a normal license plate would fit where it is there? Or is that a normal plate? It looks much thinner, but it could just be me. If that is where the actualy front plate can go, I would like that a lot better than blocking air flow in the grill. I live in texas so Ill have to have a front plate.

Hopefully someone will make a hideaway plate holder like the previous gen.

It's a cut down Michigan manufacturer plate.

I highly doubt that's the final location. It'll probably go on a bracket on the grille.

Airflow won't be a concern. Take a closer look at the grille:

Half of the lower grille is closed off. That's where the structural front bumper is. Pretty much all new Chevrolets either hide it in the grille or incorporate it into the design:
