But you are an expat! Should you pay all the taxes as if the car was a brand new one? Search info about that, in your case in Spain you only pay the registration, not the DUA, VAT, etc...

About guys importing, search a cheaper one

Normally if you are EXPAT and owned the car for more than 6 months, you should not be charged VAT and duty.
At least this is for UK.
I see Spanish govt is a thief too...registration is crazy expensive.
Thanks God it is only a few hundred pounds here in the UK!

Ok guys
I’m a lucky guy, because of an expat
Plus Navy will take care of the shipping...

So
-I won’t pay the French TVA taxe of 20% because I already paid the 7ish% of US MS and I was US resident for more than a year
-I won’t pay the custom taxe because of the 6 month US title, 1 year US resident, car more than 6000kms...
-I won’t pay the shipping (included back to FR with my Navy container)

I still have to pay the carbon taxe 10500€ (-10%/year) will be 8500€ for me,
I still have to pay the 8000€ super luxury taxe (car will be > 51 fiscal HP, won’t describe the detail of that taxe, complicate)
The car will be considered like first immatriculation (first FR title) after homologation
So I have to pay like new and not used... :-(
And I have to pay the mods to be EU conform (~6000€)

Lucky because total will be like 85000€ instead of 100000ish via private import....

That´s much more acceptable

About that: "And I have to pay the mods to be EU conform (~6000€)", just minor changes:

- Rear tailights

* Blinker different than brake light and yellow.
* Add fog rear light.

- And add a small blinker to the fender / rear mirrors.

This in Spain will be less than 1500€ because they use the rear lights, splitting them in two parts...:

- exterior half to blinkers
- interior half, fog light to left and rear light to right.

This can be done in a week.

I used to think Italy had stupid rules and tax, but Spain and France are even worse...
Insane amount of tax and money to register a car...
And ik it is not a cheap car, but it is not a Ferrari!Eu is really dying under its own bureaucracy and taxation.
UK is a lot cheaper/easier when it comes to cars.
£250 year tax for the LHD Camaro, and full conversion including registration and all the necessary mods to be done is about £2000 incl road tax...
