Video: Camaro ZL1 Podium Finish SCCA Time Trials
The SCCA Time Trials at Carolina Motorsports Park in March 2022 was a great time at the racetrack and we enjoyed hanging out with old friends and making new ones. Beast ZL1 took 2nd place in MAX 1 in his Camaro ZL1 with 1LE aero. A 200 TW tire is required, so he swapped the Goodyear 3R tires for Goodyear 3 tires. During practice the tires got over temp and completely lost grip which caused a spin in Turn 3, but everything was ok. Track Sprint isn't his best format, but he pulled off a 40.192, which was good enough for a 2nd place MAX 1 podium. Group 1 had some fast cars and fantastic drivers including: McLaren 720S, two Dodge Vipers, Corvettes, Camaros, Supras, built Audis, and some other cool cars. Someone's really desperate here, I'm afraid... there might just be such a thing as too much power after all

I don't recommend 3R tires on the street, since they need to be at temperatures that you'll never reach outside of a track to operate properly. They are absolutely magic on track, but will not tolerate wet roads or temperatures bellow 40-50 degrees F. They are a race only tire that has a DOT rating to allow you to drive to the track and back.
