ZR1 Track Oil in a ZL1 1LE

Is anyone using the "ZR1 oil" on track in a ZLE?

Ah, I never did because of the trackday warranty. I just left the 15w50 in all the time. Hardly ever drove it on the street though.

GM wanting you to swap 0w40 and 15w50 back and forth every track weekend is insane.

Lots of threads about this all over the forum.

The ESP oil was designed as a street to track oil for all Corvettes/Camaros.

I guess there is some ambiguity about the ZLE since it comes with the SC3Rs and is capable of such high cornering forces.

The ZLE has to run 15w50 because of the stickiness of the SC3Rs.

The C7Z pulls just as many g's, but can run 0w40 because it has a dry sump.

The C7ZR has the dry sump too, but has to run the 15w50, because it pulls even more g's from the higher down force.

is that in writing somewhere? dry sumps dont care about G force. i cant see a 15w50 being needed on any dry sump car.

Here's the track prep guide where I read it. Pretty crazy, huh?
