Thanks for the offer - I have sent an email asking the person who got the first one to help me out, but if he is hesitant I don't want to push him. I will post again (or send a PM) once I figure out if I can get this resolved through him.

I completely understand why they put a deadline on the authorizations, but you would think there would be some way around it under these circumstances - I would have gladly taken delivery of the car much sooner!! It sounded reasonable to be able to apply it to the order - you are basically committing to buying a car at that point and would also be committing that authorization to that order.

So, back to the and waiting...

As per the supplier pricing FAQs:

what happens to my authorization number if I don't use it before it expires?

If you don’t use your authorization number prior to the expiration date, the authorization will be added back into your account. To purchase or lease, you will have to obtain a new authorization number by following the prompts in the Programs menu.

What if my friend or family member changes their mind? Can I cancel their authorization number and give it to someone else?

If an authorization number is in "Requested" status, it may be canceled. To cancel the authorization number, sign in on the navigation menu above and select “Share Your Discount” from the Programs menu. Then select “Void” to cancel the appropriate authorization number.

When I placed my order using GMSD, I kind of felt that their expiration date was more a stick (as opposed to the money savings carrot) for you to buy NOW and help them with their monthly/quarterly sales targets, in which case you did your part.
Ha! Yes, I have done everything within my power to get this car! I actually put a deposit down at the dealer last August and was very disappointed when they postponed the production of the A10s. I am hoping to get a replacement authorization tomorrow (and maybe get my car delivered, too! *fingers-crossed*)

The guy who got me the authorization has agreed to look into it tomorrow, hopefully he will come through.

Thanks!

Becky,

I have a question about a supplier pricing authorization code - I have one, but it is expiring today. My car is at the local rail yard (about 5 miles from the dealer - but it might as well be 1,000 if it doesn't get off the rail car and onto a truck!), but unlikely to be delivered today. The person who got the authorization for me said to ask the dealer to add the code to the order today, even if the car can't be delivered yet, and the supplier pricing would be in effect. This is a dealer that didn't want to honor supplier pricing to begin with, but agreed after allowing the order to be picked up after I cancelled - so I am afraid they will look for any excuse to not honor it.

The question(s): can the code be "attached" to the order before it is delivered, and if so, do you still have to take delivery before the code expires, or does it just have to be associated with an order before expiring?

I figured I would ask the expert (you! ) while I am waiting for the dealer to call me back so I would know whether or not they are being truthful.

Thank you, and I don't know what we would do without you!

"Authorization numbers are valid for 90 days toward the purchase or lease of an eligible, new vehicle. You must take delivery of the vehicle prior to the authorization number expiring."

That is the Chevrolet Policy & Procedure ...

Becky

Good Morning Becky!

I hope everything is getting back to normal for you and your store.
(Wind storm, power out, snow removal, etc.)

Will you please perform an order status check?

Thank you, Becky. Everyone seems to be in agreement that you have to take delivery before the expiration date, and the dealer told me I would need to get another authorization code (working on it! ). I always hope my dealer is telling the truth, but it is also good to have a trustworthy source to keep them honest - and you always have all the answers .

If I had known how long it would take to get the car, I would have waited a while to request the authorization code

Maybe tomorrow will bring a new code and a call from the dealer that she has arrived! (My glass is usually half full, lol)

Thank you!

Morning Becky,

I should be 5000 since my dealer said it came in. Just wanting to make it official. Now the painful wait for Monday when I go pick her up. VCCC5T

Thanks for your effort all this time and tracking my order for the past month and a half!
