I see you sprayed your top, any problems getting "ALL" the soap out of it?

No. My top has a healthy 303 coating on it so while the foam completely covered the top, it didn't get too far into the fabric. But it does take some patience when rinsing... multiple passes with the hose over a few minutes.

The very first time I foamed the top was 8-9 months when I was doing prep for the 303 treatment, and I spent an hour or so just on the top between wash, scrub, rinse, using the 303 cleaner, then re-rinse and dry.

The top is rarely up when I drive, so usually just the lint roller, spot treatment for the bug and bird bombs, and a pooling rinse is enough to get it clean off. But after a few trips with the spousal unit to play in the surf during TS Alberto it picked up a lot of salt spray and fine grit sand. So it was due for a good cleaning.

So, am I correct in thinking that you:

1. Hose (or pressure wash) the car down with plain water
2. Spray foam all over car
3. wait 5(?) minutes for soap to emulsify/lift dirt
4. Hose or pressure wash off all the soap (rinse it off)
5. Do a conventional 2 bucket wash

Is this what everyone does? Steps 1-4 wouldn't really get it all clean, would they?

Steps 3 and 4 are optional.

Doing Steps 1-4 is a Touchless Wash. Use a blow dryer for touchless dry.

What soap do you guys recommend to use with soap cannon? I've never used soap canon before and I've just be using Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner for my cars (ZL1 is on the list )

Do you use any other cleaner with it or is it all in one?

I'm not sure I understand your question. maybe i can answer it by accident. I use honeydew in my foam cannon and gold class in my bucket, but i can use honeydew in the bucket if i wanted.

I got mine from Amazon. The one in the link comes with a set of 5 pressure washer nozzles. The also have the cannon by itself for a little cheaper, but I’m always losing the nozzles and for $3 it’s worth having spares.

I’m going to wash my airplane tomorrow with it. My gas power washer is kaput, so I got an electric one from Lowes that does 1.2 GPH @ 2000 psi, so I’ll see how it does with that.

I’m also working on an ionized water setup for spotless rinse, so I’ll probably make a post if that turns out successful.

For my foam cannon, I have been using Chemical Guys Maxi-Suds II Super Suds Car Wash Soap in the Cherry Scent. I like it because of the thick shaving cream type soap I get from the cannon, the thick bubbles I get in the soap bucket and the slick feel from the microfiber wash pad on the paint, but at some point I would like to try the CarPro foaming soap products. I think there may be a small advantage using an SiO2 system of products that fit in with my CQuartz and Reload regime. I think there is going to be a big cost difference, but need to dig into that too.

Thoughts?

Bill
