Ive always used M! oils, but recently heard that the quality is NOT what it once was. Im not sure if they were referring to detergents or the metal lubricants in the oil.

Essentially (as I were told) M1 hasnt been M! since walmart started selling it at $25/5qts

I dont know the truth or even how to verify it, but thats what I have heard.

May have to start looking at other specialty oils, to get real quality again.

I have also heard this, I've been digging to try and find hard proof. there is a lot of info on the camaro5 forum regarding M1 and people that ran it then sent it to oil labs and the results were not that good. there are quite a few people running amsoil and having good results. and i believe people are running the one with high zinc

Read Bobistheoilguy.com for several discussions on the m1 change. Most of it, FOR THE DAILY DRIVER is way overblown. M1 still fine for us that don’t obsess about their car.

Right now, the hot ticket on the vette sites in oil is pennzoil ultimate

I have faith in amsoil, but havent messed with it in a LONG time.

Buddy put it in his boat and had to roll the idle down 200 rpms... no lie

Amsoil has always had a great reputation. M1 in the race cars, I dont think is the same M1 we get anymore

This is what I’ve been using. Sent a sample to Blackstone laboratories to see how it held up.

Better than ???

ExxonMobil make a huge variety of oils. If you meant to say, use Mobil 1 full-syn Dexos 1 5W-30, then it's acceptable.

I've only used Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in mine. You can get it on Amazon right now for $25 for a 5 quart jug which is a really good deal and is cheaper then just the Platinum. https://www.amazon.com/Pennzoil-5500...dp/B01M266FWZ/
