ATS 2.0 Engine upgrades??

Looks like this will be coming to Camaro soon.

If you can’t wait for the new Cadillac ATS-V, or you simply want a few extra ponies out of your run-of-the-mill ATS, then ZZPerformance has your back. The tuning company is developing multiple tuning kits for the ATS, although ZZP doesn’t mention which engine(s) these kits are for – we’re going to go out on a limb and guess the kits are designed for the ATS 2.0T.
Performance Stage 1: ZZP lists its Stage 1 kit as bringing the ATS’s horsepower up to an even 300, a 28-horsepower bump over the 2.0T’s factory rating. A cold air intake and high flow downpipe are included in the kit, and the motor is also converted to run on E85 fuel.
Performance Stage 2: Building on the Stage 1 kit, the Stage 2 adds an upgraded front-mount intercooler, new brake kit, and high flow cat-back exhaust system. With an even more aggressive dyno tune, the Stage 2 is expected to cajole 375 horses from the 2.0T ATS.
Performance Stage 3: If all goes to plan, the Stage 3 kit will bring the ATS into M3 territory. With 450 horsepower coming courtesy of a ZFR V2 turbo, custom exhaust manifold, Mega Flow turbo-back exhaust, and even more extensive dyno tuning, the Stage 3 kit is Christmas-come-early for Cadillac fans too impatient to wait for the ATS-V.
ZZ-Spec Performance Package: The granddaddy of the ZZP packages, the company is keeping the details of this one under locks. We’re interested to know what makes this package tick, as ZZP claims customers who purchase it will be treated to over 600 horsepower. Consider our curiosity piqued.

I used to use them for our 3800 SC cars. Good company.

This was bound to happen (did happen) with the ATS 2.0T the problem is that to get a lot of those gains you have to do an E85 conversion, which is not very accessible to many people. I don't believe they have much going on with their site as I was looking at a 2.0T ATS Performance but it didn't seem like anyone still made anything for it. That being said, the CLA45 AMG is making 355 HP from it's Turbo 4. I'm sure we can bring up the LTG to similar figures before turbo swapping or E85 conversions.

Most of the answers I was getting was from the lack of following on the ATS in regards to performance causing a lot of performance projects to be cancelled or discontinued. (unlike the Audi A4 which has a similar platform [small displacement FI AWD] but HUGE following, there are tons of products for tuning an A4)

I'm willing to bet with the shared LTG engine 2013+ 2.0T ATS owners will certainly be happy to see that their gamble is likely to pay off. Though my mind is set to an SS I'm certainly happy to see the prospects of a tuned Camaro beating the snot out of some V6's. (especially with the ATS 2.0T beating the snot out of some German competition)

I have the 2.0 turbo in my new 16 Malibu. There are a few tuning options for them, but I hesitate to use them since there have been complaints.

Not sure how they compare to the LNF 2.0 turbo I had in my cobalt but these motors are beastly and fairly reliable. I had one tuned from 1000 Kms to just over 55000 then my injectors gummed up but warranty covered it even with all my bolt ons.

Here's a dyno sheet I had done at neetronics in Oakville Ontario.
Bolt ons

K&N Cai
Injen upper charge pipe
Zzp lower charge pipe
Forged blow off valve
Gm stage one sensors

That's it surprised a lot of people with that car. Including myself!

I always end up thinking this is cool but then when you add the car plus the cost of those mods and you could get a V8 with a warranty.

Actually not to bad only around 2500 in mods with tune car was 23000 so fairly cheap and the cool thing in 2008 I was blasting v8s in this car 2950 lbs 370 pounds of torque to the wheels very quick car but don't race from a dig with out radials or slicks lol

In 2008 the Mustangs weren't that good and the rt's were about a 14 second car and well no Camaro. This set up was good for high 12's on the LNF

$2500 for which level though. I would want level 3 to compare to an SS and level 3 with a new turbo and other mods will cost well above $2500. I am sure it would be a blast though plus lighter

What did you tune with? Is that gms1 vs hpt? Numbers are great I'd be happy with the same for my SSTC. I'm surprised you did not get an aftermarket downpipe.

Also watch zzp for quality. I've ordered multiple items at different years that all have been slightly damaged, ex: Calipers both with multiple paint chips, missing hardware, gaskets with chunks taken out, leaky headlights.

It was a base line it was compared off bolt ons with no tune. Then I tuned it with hp tuners I did add a down pipe later on and tuned it with tirifica infinitity boost instead of Hp tuners because I didn't want to drive back up to the dyno 5 hour drive round trip.

Yeah it's just a stock turbo with a few bolt ons you could actually go over 400 hp and 400 tq on a stock turbo but it wasn't that efficient so I did a conservative tune. The stage 1 is just 2 sensors from GM you could buy. It was the only stage they offered. After that would have to go after market which was fairly big.

Nice talking guys just wanted to show the 2.0 motors can be good. I have a 2SS now I love the V8 performs great stock. Defently fun playing with the turbo cars huge gains to be had.

You went a pretty expensive route lol. But yes hopefully these new 2.0 are as good as the LNF was. I'm over 240,000km on my Bolted/tuned LNF without ever having an engine problem, doesn't burn oil and no signs of DI coking that I can tell of (same mpg as when I bought it)

For 3k from ZZP I can get a front mount intercooler, intake, 400 cell high flow cat, stage two cams, and 82lb springs with retainers. Not bad. ZZP has been my go to when I had my cobalt. The ecotec engines are very stout. ZZP also told me that they are producing their 4340 rods, and pistons. This will be a great year for the 2.0t camaro. Those V8s better watch out.

ZZP did/does have an ATS 2.0T sedan 6MT that they say is at 400whp. The Smoking Tire did a good test/review of it.

I have a 2016 ATS Coupe 2.0T automatic (same engine/transmission as the new Camaro) and this is my dyno with ZZP Performance high flow cat down pipe and custom dyno tune from a local shop that specializes in GM tuning.
