I would assume so...but at this point who knows lol. But the General price of the 1ss tells me that will be the route I will go. Can't justify 50k for a fully optioned 2ss lol. That's used Stingray money!

But pricing really has me leaning towards the Dodge camp...Scat Packs are calling my name lol

That 1LT price of $26,995 is for 1LT with I4 Turbo, right?

Lightbulb

So due to cost, who is just going to retrofit a built LT1 into their existing Camaro?

I did similar when my '01 Camaro SS Vert.'s LS1 blew up at Road America this May, except I went built LS3 from Thompson Motorsports in TX!

PS: If you want to see some good LS1 carnage, look at the last page of the thread for a lot of pictures! It's bad!

I saw that too, the order guide does not show that. It would make no sense to have all the track add ons standard on the SS and a track mode but then not give the auto LSD. The LT was the only one in the order that mentioned LSD on manual only.

Based on the chevy site, a 2015 1SS coupe is listed at $34,500 on the Build and Price. With the 6th gen 1SS starting at $37,295, that's a difference of $2,795.

I've test driven one and that 392 is something, great sound from the factory, too. Why did GM have to make this so hard!

Scat Pack is a great car, but take into consideration that it still costs over 2k more than the Camaro that we're calling expensive whole being significantly heavier.

Becky stated in the other thread it does include a $995 destination charge.

I just test drove one last week. I felt like I was driving a tank. It is just too big and heavy. I'm 6'2" and the hoodline was above my waist when standing next to it. Plus, the weight was like 4300 pounds, and you feel it. Too bad, because they look good, have a nice new interior, and sound good.

Of course. When is the last time you heard people demanding to pay more for something? Especially a LOT more. I expect Ford will give the Gen 6 a good trouncing in the sales department.

Gen Six Camaro offers more performance, technology and customization choices
General Motors

DETROIT – As production of the lighter, more powerful, more advanced 2016 Camaro grows near, Chevrolet revealed more details to help customers tailor their Gen Six exactly how they want it, including pricing information and an online visualizer.

The 2016 Camaro offers higher levels of performance, technology and refinement, starting at a suggested retail price of $26,695 for the Camaro 1LT, while the most powerful Camaro SS ever starts at $37,295 for the 1SS.

The new accessories visualizer allows customers to view many personalization features on the 2016 Camaro, including interior and exterior colors, wheels, stripes, and accessory options.

“The all-new 2016 Camaro builds on what made the Camaro the segment leader for five years,” said Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager. “It will reset the bar in the segment with even greater levels of performance, new technologies not found on any other car in the segment, and more choices that enable customers to take personalization farther than ever before.”

“The 1LT trim level has long been one of the most popular for Camaro,” said Christensen. “We expect it will be even more popular as the 2016 Camaro 1LT is priced less than the 2015 model and offers significantly more standard features and technologies.”

New standard features that were either unavailable or optional on the 2015 model include:
  • Chevrolet MyLink with Apple CarPlay capability
  • OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot
  • Driver Mode Selector with Snow/Ice, Tour and Sport modes on all models and Track mode on SS
  • Remote vehicle starter system (with an automatic transmission)
  • Driver information center with color display
  • Keyless access with push-button start
  • Rear vision camera
  • Automatic climate control
  • Leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel
  • LED daytime running lamps
  • Capless fuel filler
  • Variable-ratio electric power steering
  • 8-way power driver, 6-way power passenger seats
  • Electronic park brake
  • Driver and front passenger knee air bags

Editors: Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price includes destination charges ($995) but excludes tax, title, license, and optional equipment and dealer fees.

I am 100% okay with the pricing. Hear me out.

1LT- With destination is $305 less than the outgoing car, yet has more technology, more performance and is a lighter car.

1SS- Current car is $34,500. Puts the new car $2,795 more to start. However, look at what you are getting. A more advanced, lighter package, more tech features, next gen engine and trans, RS package standard, and (its been stated by GM before) 1LE performance without being a 1LE. So, if you were to compare to a Gen 5 car...A 1LE RS 1SS and rear vision camera comes in at $39,845. Gen 6 1SS starts at $37,295, $2,550 LESS than a comparable Gen 5 and even then, you are missing all the new stuff that is standard, that a majority of then were either extra or not available on Gen 5.

1SS to me...is a freaking steal, and puts itself $1,600 over a GT with PP and no other options.

Good points.... although the 1LT is now a 4cyl turbo.
