The tap shift available through forum member CFD is the answer. Easy to install and you shift with your right thumb up or down. The shifters on the wheel are suicide to work cleanly. Just my 2 cents.

This CFd ^^ is way to go,,,,always use mine,,ez install,,this is my 2nd camaro with this shifter...and when you are turning steering wheel you dont get into a bind with your hands mid turn, can't shift easy. With console shift,,this is eliminated..

So many mods! So little cash! This is one I've been really thinking about - but having to wade through my wish list vs. mod money :(

Let me guess . . . the LEDT program was developed somewhat before paddle shifters were installed on anything except Formula 1 race cars that don't have much steering lock anyway and maybe a couple of exotics.
Even at autocross I don't very often find myself needing more than about half a steering wheel rotation either direction from center, making the question of hand repositioning moot. Norm |

Sorry to hear that they taught you wrong. Try to break the habit. If you attend any track or race oriented school you'll be taught 9-3 and be HIGHLY discouraged from shuffle steering in most all situations. The linked article does a good job of explaining why: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/201...ffle-steering/ If you need further convincing find any in car video of a professional driver on a road course. You'll see 9-3 in 99% of the corners. |

I believe it does function that way on all years. My car is a 2010 and works that way and I have installed shifters in others that also do. There are changes with some of the tapshift features but that's not one of them

Do not know if anyone posted already but this is the other thread with the metal type shifters.

Holy cow!
When using TapShift the M1 gear launches the car! I had no idea what I was missing out on. I can feel a speeding ticket in my near future. lol |
