So I recently picked up a 22 LT1 Camaro and was looking to add the interior spectrum lighting to it. It does have the upgraded 8in. Infotainment center. I was curious about this dark night package does anyone know if it comes with the illuminated footwells also? Or is it just the door panel lights?

I looked up the part using several sources and read the installation instructions, but they're clear as mud (no surprise there). The exact verbiage is

Note: For the Footwell Lamp (Option :S0O) installation, follow steps 13 through 17 and 22.1 through 23. Connection to LH and RH Footwell lamps remains same in the bigger kit. For S0O, C70 Ambient Lighting Control Module (ALCM) must be present.

...which prompts me to think that 84156586 is in fact the "bigger kit" and includes footwell lighting as well. Pricing makes this likely, too.


That said, I would still call a dealership and talk to the parts department before placing the order, just to be on the safe side. FYI the separate footwell lighting package part number is 23248208, in case you need to ask them if this is part of the kit (84156586).

Tried looking that over to and seems like it would include it as well. But I don’t know why they wouldn’t just list the exact parts lol. But thank you for checking on that. I’ll double check with my dealership before getting it installed.

If I were to install this on my 2020 1SS would I need some sort of software update for it to work on my infotainment screen?

The dealer will need to program it, without there is no control over the lighting. That’s baked into the software
