I finished the first test wash about an hour ago, and this thing is ***** amazing. TDS down to zero, water nicely rolling off the car and no spots after rinsing. Skipping the drying phase helps with "quality control", too, I got to see where I accidentally left bits of dust and dirt in place.

It was a bit nerve wracking to leave water on the car after all these years of trying to stay out of the sun and drying/wiping almost immediately, but the paint is super clean and truly spotless, very impressive. Saved me a ton of time and towels, too.

During the short "brake rust scrape off" drive afterwards I rolled the windows all the way down and back up, which of course smeared them with water, but it disappeared in 30 seconds leaving nothing behind (unlike before, when this meant having to clean them again).

The only regret I have is why the hell didn't I buy it sooner

I finally got around to installing my Soler Performance Throttle Body Controller, mainly for the "lock" feature, which works as advertised, but I'm sure I'll play with the settings also to get the most out of the unit itself.

We'll see how well it works, TDS here is in the low 100s, so water from the hose must not be left on the car for more than a few minutes.
I've been using their Simple Chuck for several months now. No spots, even in the hot Florida sun. Since it reduces contaminants in the water, the paint actually looks and feels better after each wash.

Curious about this, too...

Is it the same size as stock? Tune needed? Re-learn? Simple swap & go?

The TB controller is just a little thing that plugs into the gas pedal. It allows for amplifying the gas pedals signal to the throttle body. One of the features that it has is a "lock" feature that kills the signal to the TB, so you can press the pedal all you want, the car will just idle. I really like the new model, it is bluetooth controlled so the screen part of the controller can be disconnected once it is paired with your phone. Or you can leave the screen part of the controlled mounted in your car, your choice. Check them out on the Soler Performance web site.
It's plug and play, no tune, and a fairly easy install (and removal if needed)

Installed a Corsa NPP axle back exhaust on my 2022 Camaro SS 1LE yesterday, and I am super happy with the sound:

Ha, yours was probably an even better deal with its higher capacity Great to hear it works well even in Florida, meaning I don't have to worry at all with our 95-98° max temps and lower humidity.

It's incredible to see how much less problematic city or well water would be if it weren't full of minerals and sediments and whatnot...

(We already have a 3-stage whole house filter, but I still had to buy the DIC-20 because the garden faucets are split off before the filter. It's just the way this house was built back in the day, super difficult to change without redoing the entire frikken plumbing literally from the ground up, which I'm nowhere near ready for.)

Ahhhh just the controller part!! I thought you had to use it in conjunction with the actual throttle body.

Thanks for the update (and yeah, had I just went to their webstite..)

I bet it was nerve wracking not drying it off
Holy smokes, cool to hear it works so well! While my water doesn't sound as bad as yours, this is still something I need to invest in at some point. I only seem to have to contend with water spots in the summer heat around here, but what a time suck (I need both towels and leaf blower that time of year, I love the black color but hate it as well..). Not to mention I'd just feel better about the water I'm washing the car with.
Good to know, thanks!!

Today I swapped the factory SS push to start button with a ZL1 push to start button. Adding up-trim parts is certainly my jam. I decided to retain the stock silver bezel in lieu of the ZL1 piano black bezel because it makes the button visually pop a bit more. Watching this video made it easy, only took 10 minutes:

Think I'll do the Caddy door strike trim next.

Have you guys seen the waterdrop system, it's on sale atm and has good reviews. Has anyone had any hands on experience with it? Our hard water is 323 ppm and 19 gpg, so I don't think I'll have much luck with any of them.

Speaking of Caddy parts...

At Sebring I noticed that the manual transmission CT4 and CT5 Blackwings have a very similar shifter. I've been trying to find the part number for the medallion on top but all I can find so far is the entire assembly.[1] Wildhammer even has a Carbon Fiber version of the shifter knob without the medallion and it seems like the indexing pattern on top is the same as the Camaro's.[2]

I'm probably going to head into a couple local Cadillac dealerships to see if they know what the part number is.
