Got mine back from the tuner! Tuner called it a 1LE, but it's an LT1 build. |

Sold my 2016 1LT at 48K miles. Based on all the positive reports here about Vroom, I figured that is where I would be ending up. But, surprisingly, Car Max gave me the best online offer and beat Vroom by just over $3,400!
It was a "hurry up and wait" situation with Car Max though, starting with a morning run to the touchless car wash to clean up the car before the in-person appraisal to confirm the online offer. I was certain the offer would be downgraded, so I wanted the car looking its best. The appraisal was scheduled for 1 pm, but the entire process did not wrap up until just after 5 pm - but fortunately the location is close by so we just went home during the downtime. And contrary to what I expected, there was no downgrade in the online offer! Sad to see her go, and took a couple of farewell snapshots at Car Max (below), but I am looking forward to continuing the sixth gen fun in my 3LT. |

Yes, up north!
The photos hide some of the warts, like the spotting and other surface defects that developed on parts of the satin black hood wrap from it living outdoors for three years. I had the car paint corrected in December 2018, at which time I put a coat of Blackfire Crystal Seal on it (Glen's method), and nothing since then but the product from the drive-thru touchless wash, which I used to hit on about a weekly basis. I would generally follow up each wash with some spot detailing (primarily to the wrap, with Adam's matte surface dryer/protectant). Hopefully she will go to someone who will continue to take good care of her - and not end up like this parting-out Fifty I bought parts off of last week: |

Gave her new rubber all around, painted the chrome area of rear bowtie in matte black and gave her a wash

I took the bowtie off and used 400 grit sandpaper to scuff up the chrome finish. I then masked off the inner black with blue painters tape. Had some Brownells Aluma Hyde in matte black laying around so I gave it 4 quick coats. Alums Hyde fully cures in about 1 week and then put the bowtie back on.
