Are the ZLE style aftermarket wings that cost $1000 or so complete junk? I would like a ZLE style wing that is functional and won’t fall apart. I’d rather not spend 5 g’s though, might as well just buy a ZLE At that price.

I think that is like asking which oil is better LOL

It depends on the brand, you can get a C7 Carbon CF wing for 1K shipped, I have one and it looks great and the fit was spot on, plus its one piece. There are a few brands at this price point. I would steer clear of any that you need to attach the winglets. JMHO

All good and I understand the point you're making. I'm somewhat new here so looking for good intel like you provided.

What is this C7 carbon CF wing and where can I get it? $1k is about what I'm willing to spend on a wing that looks good and is functional as well.

$1000 +/- $200 is about my dollar window too. Would love to have the OEM like everyone else, but $4-5k is more than I'm willing to spend.

I've read here in the forum C7 makes a good wing, but has had quality issues recently. So much so a well known vendor in this forum discontinued selling them. Here's a C7 pic of the wing.

I was skeptical about the one I bought that had to be put together. But after 5 track days, it has held up well....at half the cost. 155-160 on the straights at VIR, without an issue.

I'm hoping vivid just gives me my money back and let's me keep the one that doesn't fit for some type of display art.

I've had my hands on 3 Anderson wings now... only one fit the stock holes without having to be flexed majorly. The other two needed to be flexed so much it made the resin crack at the stands/stanchions.



I had to "destroy" the wing to get my money back, and after doing so I can tell you the damage that is happening to these wings is indeed from bad molds/tooling and brittle resin. Not as much from shipping them, but it is a factor since they bounce around loose in the box.



The only good thing about breaking one of them on purpose is the fact that these things should be good to go on track despite the cracks. After beating on the wing with a 5lbs dead blow for a few mins I was able to break it in half.



After a lot of time and money wasted, I now have a used GM 1LE wing and an ok fitting, slightly cracked Anderson wing that will be for sale soon.

Agreed it was painful for me as well to purposely destroy it lol however I had to actually crack mine into 3 separate pieces to get my money back and none of the pieces could have "clean cuts" to them.
