If a new technology that allows for cleaner batteries can be developed then a big argument against EV’s will be nullified. (See below link).

The gov also needs to find a way to replace the gas tax to fund road building and maintenance

Homeowners in suburban areas can put solar panels on their roofs to power their EV for free, but a solution will need to be developed for city and apartment dwellers but I suspect that is doable.

EV’s are the future no doubt but ICE vehicles will still be around for many decades, after all, horses and buggies still exist..

I agree a Cmax ,it's not corruption and selling the country out that is the problem, it's those darn racist highways.

They’re in quite a pickle. I don’t think the I6T is going to go over well at all even if they do a great job on the other aspects of the platform refresh. I could be wrong. Either way, very much regretting parting with my Hellcat right now…

One dealer is offering 8% off MSRP on orders. A black 392 WB shaker would be fun…If I could snag that discount on a SS1LE, I’d enthusiastically join the GM Camaro customer ‘battered wives’ sold order club. Pay MSRP and suffer the bruises? I’d pull that trigger for a CE in yellow.

An I6T is awesome, between an I6 and a V8, I have a very small preference for V8s. I6s are equivalent and also awesome though. now a V6 is a different, disappointing story.

I am sure it will be very expensive as well. If you put big power, big heavy wheels, etc. on an EV you need a big battery and that will drive the cost way up. Add in a performance adaptive suspension, big brakes, performance tires, sporty seats, etc. and they get really expensive.

If we use Tesla as a benchmark, the rough profit margin on a Tesla is around 30%, which is huge, like 4x what GM and Ford profit on a vehicle. Amazing what can be done when you cut out the middle man and simplify your production. It will be interesting to see how all the other manufacturers price their EVs. I am sure they will need to pay for all that R&D and I expect high prices as battery production is constrained. Furthermore, under the new EV tax credit legislation Stellantis EVs would not be eligible for the $7,500 tax credit until sometime in 2027, which is going to keep prices high on an unproven product GEN 1 platform. It should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I remember when Dodge used to make stuff like this. When I was a kid, there was a guy a block south of my block that had one of these. And a guy a block north of my block that had a GTO Judge. Needless to say they were best buds. Us kids used to get a kick out of watching those guys zip through the neighborhood.

The gov is already talking of tax based on annual mileage. I think this is a provision in one of Brandon's build back broker bills. I believe it's the one disguised as infrastructure. It would be simple enough to do as cars get registered annually in most cases. Track mileage that way. But they will likely end up tracking it by having control of your ECU.

I remember Tadge Juechter telling me it made no sense to have an engine that cost more didn’t get better FE and didn’t perform any better when he was asked to look at putting a TT V6 in he Corvette. A TT DOHC is very expensive compared to a good old push rod V8.

Yes, back when cars had style and personality.

Think about then you drive today. What vehicles on the road will force you to turn your head? Not many.

At least Dodge is letting everyone know that this is their chance to buy if interested. I can imagine we get word from someone on the line at Lansing or the Camaro is just removed from the build and price on GM's website. Acknowledging that their muscle cars represent something special is a smart decision that will resonate with customers. Although this segment doesn't represent the large volume cash cow the business is looking for it has served as an example that the company can build something exciting.

Most roofs need to be replaced every 15-20 years or so and those that have had to do so with solar panels, will tell you that it is not worth it. Reason being is that it is absurdly expensive to take the solar panels down and re-install them after a new roof. Any money you "save" going solar over those 15 years is wiped out during that process. Unfortunately, they don't tell you that up front. I've known homeowners and businesses that have had to do this and they wound up not even bothering to re-install the panels after their new roofs for that very reason.

I had the same conversation with him. Same answer.

Then there was the conversation I had with Jordan Lee (Small Block V8 Chief) on the same topic. The language was different, but the message was the same.
