Created my own vent gauge pod

So looked around and just didn’t like what was offered for gauge pods. Decided I was going to design up my own. I own a machine shop and use CAD software daily so no big deal. Used my 3d printer and got it done. The material for our printer has a heat deflection temp of 280deg so no issues there.

Waiting to get the wideband all wired in until the cam, headers ect all get installed at once.

But turned out great, airflow isn’t effected, and still have full range of motion that factory vent had.

Looks good for sure. Did you print anymore in black and are you selling these? What material did you use? 50 micron sub $1000 printer? How long did it take to print one?

I printed up 3 extras for guys on the 1LE Facebook group that wanted them, but could always print more. These were done on a Markforged Mark2 ($14k printer) with their “onyx” material. Which is a chopped carbon fiber nylon with continuous carbon fiber reinforcement. And a little over 11hrs each print time. Stuff out of this printer is pretty solid, I can’t flex one of these with all the force in my hands compressing it.

That's Awesome! Looking for a mount for exactly the same gauge, so yes please - if you're printing more, I'll definitely have one!

Markforged is definitely not priced for a casual purchase. I’d like to patronize you. Please let me know what price is for each and payment method. If it’s a good deal for you and me I’m in for one of them.

I did $50 shipped via FedEx and paid by PayPal for the guys on the 1LE Facebook page. These also come with a rubber grommet that goes into the back to seal off airflow from the back of the gauge. Want to also note I designed this for the AEM 30-0344 wideband. This is what Pray wants for remote tuning. So I’m unsure if it fits anything else. If it doesn’t fit for a different gauge I’d be happy to take it back.

If you’d like one, I’d ask that you shoot me an email (clark@trosttech.com) with your shipping address. It’s easier for me to keep track that way than through paypal’s clunky notes section. I made about 50 aluminum 1LE dipstick covers for guys and this method for me worked very well.

I also did an install video that I’ll have to get uploaded to YouTube for you. There’s zero cutting or anything and you can turn your gauge back to factory later if you needed to.

Thanks Clark! Smooth transaction and a great print job. Keep me posted on the video upload please.

I noticed this thread is a little old, does anyone have information on installing a guage in this vent? I have not been able to find any, and would rather not break any more parts. Thanks.

I have the same question. I see there is a crease like the vent is 2 pieces but idk if we are supposed to split that then glue it back or something.
