A8 TC 1st Quarter 2019 FIX - Community Update Thread

Hello all. Please excuse yet ANOTHER A8 TC shudder thread. That said, I thought it would be beneficial to all if everyone who gets their dealership to perform the 2019 1st quarter fix to post in this thread (rather than dig thru the multiple complaint threads) and update us periodically on whether or not it is working for them.

So....has anyone received this new fix as of yet? If so....is the problem solved? How many miles driven?

As I type this, I am waiting while the new fix is being done.to my 2016 V6 A8. 36127 miles.
This will be the first work done. Just started noticing hard shifts a few weeks ago and scheduled a appointment.
They came back this morning and told me the diagnosis.
A8 shudder and would get it in immediately and do the new fluid/flush based on GMs latest instructions. (Service writers words). Hope all goes well. Was told it'll take 3 hrs.

Isn't it just a different type of fluid?

I believe so. Mine should be done in the next hour so I'll know more or what was done.

Update.

Dealership replaced the fluid with (19417577) That is the new fluid.
Car runs great, Shifts Smooth, no shudder at all. Will have to wait to see for how long.

You had it done a week ago and have a shudder in V4 mode already? That's uh......... that's not the greatest of news.

So far yep, I’ve only driven like 80-100 miles and you’re supposed to wait till 200 miles. The shudder for me isn’t that bad you only feel it when it is starting to go from V4 to V6 mode.

Yeah but even though the shudder is slight, it's disappointing the new flush didn't fix it.

Oh yes I agree, it definitely got better compared to what it was! My car had the shudder in V6 mode at first about a year ago, got the T/C replaced fixed it. I had a small shudder in V4 mode, Then I heard about the new fluid, got it done and you can tell it is better. The shifts for me are also different, my car felt very lazy now it’s really sharp very quick.

Okay give you a update, on my way home i did not feel the shudder as much as i would have. I felt it once when it was switching, otherwise it was shudderless for me. It is getting better.

New Shudder Fix?

So when I take my car to the dealership tomorrow to tell them I need the shudder fix, do I need to reference the “new” shudder fix that just came out Q1 just to make sure they don’t do the old one first or will they already know?
Are they numbered the same or differently?
