Took mine in last week and complained about the shudder and presented with the TSB. Service manager says he has never heard of any issues with the transmission. Took to second dealer.....same thing. Unfortunately the only dealers that are close to me are owned by the same group. I smell BS.

I've been to them several times before... they were hit or miss with warranty repairs, ect..sometimes perfect, other times like pulling teeth. It started happening to me on my drive from Austin TX to Atlanta GA for my Holiday family visit and decided to have them address it here so I wouldnt have to drive it back 1,000 mile enduring the shudder...but...the more I'm reading the more likely it sounds that I will have it back again...and I'm going to be looking at a new A8 transmission before I reach 100k miles. |

Well it should say, 90% of A8 owners pay no attention to the way the vehicle drives, and would never know there was a problem unless the vehicle stopped moving.

I also read this one while I visited the Sandy Blogs.
https://sandyblogs.com/techlink/?p=10531 New Fluid Exchange Procedure A new repair procedure for the DT-45096 TransFlow machine to exchange fluid also has been developed to address torque converter clutch shudder on 8L45 and 8L90 8-speed automatic transmissions (RPOs M5T, M5N, M5U, M5X). The new transmission fluid exchange procedure and new formula of Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP transmission fluid is being rolled out regionally due to the limited availability of both the new transmission fluid and tool kit. It is anticipated that the new transmission fluid and tool kit will be available nationwide by late January or early February 2019. Look for more information to be released soon in a service bulletin and the December 2018 Emerging Issues seminar (10218.12V). |

looking at this reasonably. you have a car that something has caused the tc to shred it's friction service, and enter the transmission fluid and systems.
Their fix, is to flush that crap out, and put good fluid back in. that's it. am I missing something? |

Its a business decision. Its bad. They will get their asses sued and pay out millions. I guess they'll save money since fixing all the A8s will cause them to lose tens of millions.

correction: they're already being sued.
Lawyers will get most of the money that should go to A8 owners with the shudder. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=544076 Life isnt fair, then you die lol |
