It's a pretty big undertaking to do this anyway. The SS owner isn't trying to pass the car off as a ZL1 and Ed isn't trying to pass his off as a 1LE.

Ed has the best of both worlds from a comfort standpoint imo. 1LE looks with the regular zl1 ride.

A lot of members run 1LE replicas and could easily wrap their hood and mirrors black. I hope that won't bother you with your inbound 1LE.

MP concepts just came out with a ZL1 front end that fits the SS almost perfectly. It is $1000 unpainted. No modifications necessary. I actually saw this on an SS very recently. The lines match up very well and the guy only had to get it painted and installed. It does not come with the ZL1 badge but does have the splitter already built into it. I thought the car was a ZL1 because it looked so good. This could be a much more affordable option if you want to go aftermarket for this mod.

It's unfortunate that my order took to long my date keeps moving..

If you want my allocation it's yours..3300 status lonestar chevt houston tx..remember this is a zl1.. now the only difference is adjustable coil overs vs mag ride.., 19 inch tires vs 20, and solid bushing vs rubber.

I drive mine alot it be a better car for more road and the 3 or 4 track days I do.

I just bought a 2018 ZL1, ran through some road debris that damaged my front Fascia the first week I had it and am wanting to replace it with the 1LE front end. I see you posted the major parts, but is that everything? Mine is at the body shop right now so I'm trying to avoid delays by accidentally not getting every single part they need to put it together. So any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I was thinking I may need fender liners as well, but not sure. Anyway, here's what I have ordered so far...

Here is the diagram I'm going off of to order everything except the fenders, which I don't have that that particular diagram. The other issue I have is, I'm not certain which codes or "usage" applies to only the 1LE but not my ZL1.

Awesome info. Thanks so much!

I have a few questions if you don't mind;

So yours is a ZL1 and you've done this exact mod?

Also, I've been told that my ZL1 Fenders won't work. Did you replace the Fenders as well? If not, are they the same part number as the 1LE do you know?

When you say, "6 inserts that go into the splitter", what part number are you referring to so I can order the correct ones. Also part number for the 16 clips for the dive planes.

Thanks in advance!

I own a Camaro SS and have modified the car with ZL1 1LE front end parts.

In terms of "big name" parts this included the fascia, fenders, aero. Abez has his own thread with the PN's but:

Front Fascia (A1Z)

84280755 (84177343 old)

Fender

84291360 (84157562 old)

Fender

84291359 (84157561 old)

Grille (A1Z - upper)

84277490

Grille (A1Z - lower)

84222508

Hood (I skipped for now)

23483328

Hood Scoop (I skipped for now)

84335785

Front Splitter (A1Z)

84177344

Deflector PKG (OTR AIR)
Dive plane

23329726 (LH)
23329727 (RH)

Bezels for Fog/Dive

84277492 (LH)
84277493 (RH)

Rocker Panels (I skipped for now)

84177431 (LH)
84177432 (RH)

A few learnings:

1. The impact bar is the same between cars, but the shroud and foam that go over it is not to my understanding. The cover has attachment points to the fascia that do not match up if you leave the SS part.

2. Be careful with splitters and grilles - I ordered the ZL1 splitter which was 100% incorrect and had to get another.

3. The SS hood does not fit perfectly - but it's damn close. The feature lines are a little off but the more problematic area is the curvature of the hood itself. The SS hood is more sharp and angular around the "bend" where the ZL1/ZL1 1LE hood is more gradual.

-Interesting question: The AndersonComp CF ZL1-style hood is made for SS fitment but I have seen a few ZL1 1LE's on Instagram with it (check AC insta account). So I'm not sure if they have another fitment that works for these cars or what. Even their reps couldn't officially confirm.

4. Of course you will need wider front tires on anything below an SS 1LE. Right now I am rocking some 285/40/19 Apex ARC-8's. Great customer support from them. Love the wheels.

5. The "ZL1" badge on the lower grille is a part of the grille itself. I had no intention of badging my car that way but it was included so I'll have to find some way to file it off and refinish that section. Just another heads up. You'll also not be able to use a black or illuminated bowtie if you have one since the upper grille has the flowtie included.

6. The swap cost about $5000 with labor and paint, not counting wheels/tires. I would say you could the parts cheaper than I did and do everything for about $4000... but that depends how important the hood/rear spoiler/etc is to you. I'll be getting a new spoiler soon but probably not the ZL1 1LE style.

More pictures to come when it's not overcast out!
What was the issue with the splitter that required you getting a different one?

Fitment?

I’m interested in adding a ZL1-1LE Splitter to my build however I want to make sure it will fit.

It's a mass produced car. It's a camaro. The only people who will actually notice are the people who know the camaro. And those are the people who will be able to tell that it's not a ZL1. Everyone else will just see another camaro. Get over it

All I want are the fenders. Will the ZL1 fenders fit with the SS/1LE bumper/hood?
