Transmission Fluid Change??

I have a 2012 Camaro Lt (V6 Manual).
@ How many miles should the Transmission Fluid be changed?
I looked in the service manual but nothing specifically stated that i should be changed @ so and so miles.

I did see chevy's site that said @ 45,000 miles on an automatic transmission.
But didn't say if that applies to a manual transmission.

Any ideas? Also what's the difference between changing the transmission fluid and flushing it? isn't flushing also changing the transmission fluid?

It's super easy to do, and it doesn't hold much. I do it every 3 years or 30,000 miles.

Same fluid goes into the DIFF too, so I would do that at the same time and use the same interval.

Is this accurate?
Also what's the difference between a transmission fluid change and a flush?

Would this be the correct steps?

That video looks accurate to me. Like I said, it really is easy to do this. Same for the rear diff. For the rear diff, you don't even use a socket, you just use the box end of a 3/8s ratchet.

A fluid change is just a drain and refill like you just saw. A flush is when a transmission is hooked up to a machine, where they flush fluid in one direction and out the other with more force than just gravity. A flush isn't necessary if you keep up with the routine fluid changes.

Just like how you don't need to flush an engine, just gravity change the oil.

If you buy 3 quarts of gear oil, and a fluid pump, you can get the trans and diff done in an hour or so.

I bought 3 quarts of this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used this pump (but it didn't fit the quart bottle very well): https://www.amazon.com/Plews-55001-L...P6A6PXV40CPE02
And I added this GM fluid to the diff: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

~2 quarts for the trans, and ~1 quart for the diff.

I did mine recently and used Royal Purple:
https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Purple-...dp/B001DKTG0G/

It's expensive and I thought I may have been buying some snake oil, but I can definitely tell a difference. Much smoother especially 1st to 2nd at high rpm's.

GM recently changed it to 3oz recommendation I believe. I poured 3 oz in, and then filled the diff with fluid until it flowed out.

I've noticed a huge difference just getting the stock fluid out. For how easy this is to change, I don't mind doing it frequently and sticking with Mobil 1. You honestly can't go wrong just getting a new fluid in there.

You will be amazed at how dirty the original fluid is, and how much metal is on the magnets.

It really isn't! If you are comfortable enough doing an oil change, you can change the trans and diff fluid on these cars.
