APR Splitter and questions

Hey guys my Dad and I mounted my APR splitter to my car yesterday. I will post up some pics how it looks so far after it gets washed. Only problem we ran into is that the support rods aren't quite long enough to reach metal. We can't drill them into the bumper or plastic because I'd really hate for my splitter to rip off. So I think what we are gunna try to do is weld in some L shaped brackets on the bottom of the crash bar, paint them black, and mount the rods into them. For those of you that have this splitter how did you mount your rods? Any ideas from anyone else? Thanks in advance!

I have the splitter and it wasn't the easiest to put on. Here are some pictures of the installed splitter. I really need to purchase longer rods which I can get from ebay. But I went to HomeDepot and got some hardware to make the stock rods work. I was able to drill and tap into the steel frame behind the grille. I also drilled and tapped four bolts into the frame under the car as well. This splitter is now bolted on and not coming off.

Thanks guys. Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that has had this problem. I think we are gunna try to make some kinda bracket to attach to the crash bar that Gould secure the rods. And I need a way to maybe tap the splitter and secure it into the frame at the bottom or something.
