They looked up using my VIN and there were two headlamp assemblies available. I didn't get the numbers but one was ~$975.00 and the other was ~$1,300.00.

This is a GMC.

What the OP is talking about, is not.

Maybe he's trying to put the Sierra/Canyon/Yukon/Acadia C-clamp LEDs on his Camaro and that's the issue.

I had the wreck back in October and since then it has been pure hell trying to get my halos back to matching. I gave my local dealership over the holidays to get everything settled with GMC to get myself another headlight.

I called today and the guy in the bodyshop and he said that GMC said that I had put aftermarket halos in my headlamp assembly and that they had NEVER put blue halos in a Camaro. I obviously called BS on that statement. He told me that I needed to call the dealership from which I bought it to see if there was any way that aftermarket halos have been put in the car before I bought it... I bought the car new.

Someone please tell me that I'm not crazy and that I'm not the only car with blue halos? Even the 45th anniversary stock images show blue halos.
GMC has nothing to do with your Camaro. Not sure how it's possible for you not to know this.

Yes yes yes, we've lit him up for typing "GMC" instead of "GM", very good. Now back to the scheduled programming, and we can all pretend to be humans for a few minutes.

Computerfreak07, you're saying that GM says you put aftermarket bulbs in?

Don't GM bulbs bear a part number? Can't they just yank it and look? Of course, they'd probably fib about it....

Never knew there were 2 different colors of factory halos... learned something today. I guess my very early 2010 would have the white ones. I'm gonna have to start comparing mine to newer Camaros now.

They have the original headlamp assembly in their possession. I'm not sure if they looked at the part number to get the replacement or if they just ordered one based on the VIN. Regardless, I am not sure why there is 2 headlamp assemblies showing for my VIN and why one of them isnt the blue hue halo.

Here's a twist... is it possible the dealership sold you a low miles surrendered car (original buyer couldn't make payments), and then sold it to you as "new"? I've seen dealerships do some really shady crap.

Is there a way to check that?

Yeah. VIN check carfax and see how many owners there were.

Let us know what you find out. In the meantime, how many miles were on the odometer? Which, unfortunately can be manipulated as well.

You're suggesting that someone else owned the car for a few miles and took the trouble to take the headlights apart just to change the color a shade and a half from kitchen&bath white to cool white?

I'm suggesting its entirely possible. If he bought the car new and didn't change the halos, there are only two possibilities.

1. They are in fact, OEM halos that came with the car.

2. The car was previously owned.

Is there a third possibility I'm missing?

My car just got back into a few months ago and I had to get a new headlight assembly and the new light is about a 95% match to the old one. They're the same color but the new one is slightly brighter.
